Ares Yachts has unveiled ATLAS, a new 54m (177ft) explorer yacht concept designed just under the 500-GT threshold.
Combining a true go-anywhere ethos with luxurious guest areas, yacht ATLAS offers options for hybrid propulsion and other sustainable solutions, highlighting its modern edge while retaining traditional trawler yacht values.
The exterior design, developed by the Italian studio Hot Lab, integrates contemporary styling with efficient naval architecture from Van Oossanen in the Netherlands.
ATLAS features a mezzanine structure at the bow, offering the owner a cabin that is 'open to the horizon', and a ‘welcome lounge’ aft that serves as both a main saloon and a social hub. The yacht’s stern design is wrapped in a hard yet elegant profile, with sharp lines that emphasize both aesthetics and functionality.
The interior will be custom-made, with an envisioned modern and minimalist style using high-quality materials and large panoramic windows. The Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) developed by Van Oossanen ensures efficiency, with ATLAS projected to offer a top speed of 17 knots and a range of nearly 5,000nm.
What is missing in an explorer yacht of around 50 meters? The answer was a greater attention to the owner’s private space and a new way to interact with the sea.”

Designed for long-distance exploration, motor yacht ATLAS features extensive storage for tenders and toys and options for a helipad and hybrid propulsion to minimize environmental impact.
