Sale of first EXP 43 crowns a memorable year for Cantiere delle Marche

The sale of the 43m (141ft) explorer yacht means the Italian yard now has 15 new builds totaling 578m (1,896ft) in its order book.

Cantiere Delle Marche (CdM) has sold the first unit of its EXP line, after calling 2021 the most memorable year since it started activity.

The 43 EXP is part of a new semi-custom line devised with Francesco Paszkowski and sports what is being described as an “overengineered” displacement steel hull and a light aluminum superstructure. The 43m (141ft) explorer yacht features twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines giving a range of over 5,000nm and a top speed of 14 knots.

The Italian yard has further cemented its reputation as one of the leading builders of explorer yachts in the world during 2021 with several significant additions to its order book.

“Firstly, to take stock of the work done so far, I have to say that, under many aspects, 2021 has been the most memorable year since CdM started its activity in 2010. In the last six months or so we sold a remarkable number of explorer vessels,” said Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and Sales & Marketing Director of Cantiere delle Marche. “Our order book includes 15 new builds for a total of 578 metres and the data taken into consideration up to now witness that the value of our production doubled if compared to 2019” he added.

Key features of the new 43 EXP include an extremely large cockpit and a strong indoor/outdoor ethos showcased by large glazed surfaces on the main and upper deck salon. There will be four double suites located on the main deck, with a further two twin cabins on the lower deck. Tenders and toys will be stored in a special compartment located on the upper deck forward.

In addition to the 43 EXP, CdM finalized contracts for a number of other vessels in the last few months of 2021 including 2 x Darwin 86s, 2 x Flexplorer 146s, 2 x RJ 157s, an RJ115, an Acciaio 130 and a one-off explorer yacht being built under the name of Project T.

Founded in 2010, Ancona-based Cantiere delle Marche has positioned itself as one of the leading builders of explorer yachts in the world, constructing steel and aluminum displacement yachts in the 26m to 43m (85ft to 138ft) bracket which combine extreme seaworthiness with real elegance.
