Cantiere delle Marche launches 35m Darwin 115 explorer yacht

The yacht was designed for an experienced owner and includes full scuba diving equipment, gym facilities and a 100 square meter sundeck.

The most remote corners of the globe will soon be within reach for the owner of Cantiere delle Marche’s latest Darwin 115 explorer yacht which has been successfully launched.

The 35m (115ft) motor yacht actually began life as a Darwin 112 model, but grew an additional meter (3ft) as the experienced Owner opted for a longer and enclosed swimming platform to be even closer to the sea.

Exterior design and naval architecture is the work of HydroTec, with the signature high bow of the Darwin range being prominent. For the first time Nauta Design has styled the interiors of a yacht from the Darwin range and they sport plenty of bleached and brushed oak for an understated but sophisticated look.

The yard worked with the Owner, a keen diver, to customize the yacht to his desires and it includes full scuba diving equipment, a lengthened upper deck to carry a 3-tonne crane and two large tenders and extra insulation in the Owner suite to dampen the level of noise and vibration.

“We are very glad that this experienced Owner decided to entrust us to build his Darwin and proud for the confidence he has placed in our team,” says Vasco Buonpensiere, co-founder and sales and Marketing Director at Cantiere delle Marche. “We did our best to fulfill his expectations!”

Other features include a large gym area and a 100 square meter (1075 sq. ft) sundeck with sun beds, a dining area, bar and barbecue. Accommodation is offered for eight guests across four cabins and includes a full-beam Owner’s suite on the main deck, a full-beam VIP suite on the lower deck and two large twin cabins on the lower deck.

Powerwise twin Caterpillar C18 engines give a top speed of 13 knots and a cruising speed of 11 knots with a range of 5,000nm at 10 knots.

Italian yard Cantiere delle Marche has become known for its explorer yachts and earlier this year it delivered the first hull from its new ‘go anywhere’ RJ line. Two other yachts from the line have already been sold and are under construction at its Ancona facility.
