Watch: Feadship's Hydrogen Fuel-Cell Superyacht Project 821 On Recent Sea Trials

Feadship Project 821 recently completed its first sea trials in the North Sea, showcasing its expansive deck spaces filled with spectacular superyacht amenities.

Feadship's superyacht Project 821, distinguished by its sleek dark blue hull and contrasting bright white superstructure, recently embarked on its maiden sea trials in the North Sea. Notably, it is celebrated as the world’s first hydrogen-powered superyacht and the largest ever launched in the Netherlands.

Designed by British studio RWD, Feadship Project 821 spans 119m and is an engineering marvel with five decks above the waterline and two below. It boasts the most hull openings of any Feadship creation: 14 slide-out balconies, five shell doors, and seven opening platforms.

With a volume of 7,247 GT, the motor yacht can accommodate up to 30 guests in 12 luxurious staterooms. The interior is said to feature a neutral color palette complemented by textured fabrics, leathers, marble, rattan, and various types of wood.

The new superyacht is tailored for family use, featuring an owner’s deck that sits 37 meters above the water, offering an apartment-like suite. This private space includes two staterooms, twin bathrooms, dressing rooms, a gym, two offices with fireplaces, a pantry, and a lounge area. The main deck houses eight additional staterooms, which can be configured into four VIP suites. The yacht also supports a crew of 44 members.

In line with modern environmental standards, Feadship 821 utilizes an advanced waste heat recovery system, efficiently heating its pool, Jacuzzi, steam room, and other amenities. Externally, Project 821 appears to have a universal sports court on the foredeck to facilitate outdoor activities.

The yacht is powered by triple MTU engines, allowing for a cruising speed of 14 knots and a top speed of 17 knots. The innovative energy system includes a modest 543kWh storage capacity, leveraging hydrogen fuel cell technology for a week's worth of silent, emission-free operation at 10 knots.
