The 59.2m motor yacht Le Pharaon was delivered to her owners in 1989 by Dutch shipyard Feadship. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of De Voogt, while Larvor is responsible for her interior design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.45m beam and a 3.15m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 814 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Le Pharaon features a raked bow that enhances its aerodynamic profile and improves overall performance. The yacht's deck is crafted from high-quality teak, providing durability and a classic aesthetic. The hull and superstructure are both painted in a clean, white finish, contributing to a streamlined and cohesive appearance. A blue boot top adds a subtle yet distinctive accent to the vessel's exterior.

One of the notable features is the forward navigational mast, which can retract through the deck using electric motors, maintaining the yacht's sleek profile when docked. The yacht is equipped with two Chris Craft tenders which are stored in concealed boathouses behind remotely operated doors on the port and starboard sides of the boat deck. This design allows for quick deployment by a single crew member.

Le Pharaon also includes a helicopter deck, facilitating easy arrival and departure for the owner and guests. This deck doubles as an entertainment and sunbathing area, complete with a six-person whirlpool spa positioned behind the mainmast. The yacht is equipped with various watercraft, including three jet-skis, two amphibians, and an inflatable dive tender. These are launched using a hydraulic crane integrated into the port bulwark, minimizing visual clutter.

The transom of Le Pharaon conceals a range of hydraulic systems. A 'Riviera' passerelle, complete with self-leveling steps, extends from the stern to assist with boarding when docked stern-to. Below this, a hydraulically operated bathing platform folds out from the transom, providing access to the stern's recreational area, which includes a bar, pantry, sauna, shower, and toilet. This area also serves as storage for fishing and diving equipment.

Interior Design

Le Pharaon's interior design, crafted by Pierre Tranter, is characterized by its lavish and elegant style. Upon entering, guests are greeted by a main deck passageway adorned with inlaid marble and Egyptian statuary, setting a distinct thematic tone. The main saloon continues this decor with exotic rugs and a solid Perspex stairway leading to the upper deck saloon, which is ideal for casual dining.

Adjacent to the upper deck saloon is the Florida Room, featuring sliding glass panels on both port and starboard sides that open to the outside. A large glass-domed skylight above enhances the sense of space and light. Forward of the Florida Room lies the communications room and the captain's cabin, which is larger than usual for a yacht of this size but retains traditional space-saving designs, such as a chest of drawers beneath the elevated bed.

The dining room on the main deck is designed for formal meals, featuring a 12-seater oval dining table with a black mirror overhead, reflecting the surrounding gold-trimmed oak cabinets. These cabinets include a temperature-controlled wine vault for both red and white wines. Next to the dining room, the fully-equipped galley boasts state-of-the-art appliances, including a special oven for baking French-style bread.

Accommodation

Le Pharaon offers accommodation for up to 12 guests across a variety of well-appointed cabins. Located on the lower deck, the owner's suite is an expansive and luxurious space. It features silk-covered walls and two bathrooms, one lined with rare blue marble from Brazil and the other with pink Italian Rose Aurora marble. These bathrooms are separated by a sauna. The suite also includes an exercise room and a study, providing a comprehensive retreat for the owner.

Also situated on the lower deck are three guest suites. Each suite is equipped with burled ash furniture and includes a bathroom decorated with white marble, offering a serene and elegant environment.

The forward end of the main deck accommodates two VIP suites. The larger suite features Egyptian-inspired hand-painted wall panels and a gold-framed mirrored ceiling above the double bed. The en suite bathroom is highlighted by a circular marble-floored shower. The second VIP suite, slightly smaller, has a silver-framed mirrored ceiling and a bathroom finished in ocean-green onyx.

To ensure smooth operation and service, Le Pharaon accommodates a crew of 11, including a larger-than-usual captain's cabin adjacent to the bridge. The remaining crew quarters are located on the lower deck forward of the engine room, providing adequate space and amenities for the crew to perform their duties effectively.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516 DITA) 1,399hp engines, motor yacht Le Pharaon is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots.
