Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.2m beam and a 3.45m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,730 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2016. This was the second yacht built on the Bilgin 263 design. Launched in October 2022 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in February 2023.
Exterior Design
Leona presents a striking silhouette, with a "bullet-shaped" bow that not only enhances her visual allure but also extends her lines in a manner that captivates the eye. This sleek and pointed bow contributes to the yacht's efficiency, seamlessly blending form with function. The displacement hull underwent extensive testing at the Maritime Advanced Research Centre in Poland, ensuring that Leona's performance is as remarkable as her appearance. With a 12.2-meter beam and a bulbous bow, she boasts a substantial volume of 1,755GT, all while maintaining a profile that is relatively narrow for her length.
The hull's vibrant red complements the "Snow White" superstructure, resulting in a personalized and highly distinctive presence on the water. This bold color palette is enhanced by a fashion plate that adds to the yacht's unique aesthetic, while the altered mast design introduces a more masculine and sporty character.
Unique Yacht Design has incorporated carbon handrails, which add a modern touch to the yacht's classic elegance. Moreover, the superstructure has been thoughtfully extended, optimizing the space on the owner's deck and allowing for an even more grandiose owner's bedroom. This attention to detail continues on the aft deck, where a comfortable exterior lounge, accented with planters and greenery, offers an intimate setting for relaxation.
Interior Design
The main saloon is divided by a striking tiger onyx wall featuring a built-in aquarium and fireplace, setting the stage for an ambiance that is at once luxurious and inviting. This remarkable feature wall is not just a barrier between spaces but a sculptural element that commands attention, embodying the yacht's commitment to bespoke artisanship.
The use of materials is diverse and sumptuous, ranging from chrome, brass, and gold to marble, stone, leather, veneer, fabric, and crystal. These materials are not merely used but celebrated in their application, with gold-color metallic appliqués gracing the columns and customized hand weights adding a unique touch to the gym. Every fabric, texture, and finish has been meticulously chosen to create an environment that is as tactile as it is visually stunning.
H2 Yacht Design's creative direction has resulted in a bold and opulent palette that seamlessly incorporates a high level of decorative finishes and textures. Gloss lacquers and backlit onyx are complemented by figurative timbers, gold inlays, and an array of luxurious textiles, culminating in a richly layered aesthetic that is both enchanting and commanding.
The beach club continues the theme of indulgence with a Greek key pattern serving as a fresco and serving as a backdrop to reproductions of classical statues. Here, an 8.7-meter by three-meter pool beneath a star-lit ceiling awaits, adding yet another layer of grandeur to the yacht's extensive list of amenities.
Even the cinema on the lower deck doesn't shy away from the yacht's bold ethos, with red velvet seats and a 102-inch OLED screen providing an immersive viewing experience. The entertainment system, engineered by Sensory International offers voice-activated and iPad control with a built-in party mode that ensures the vessel is as much a floating palace of entertainment as it is a home away from home.
Accommodation
Leona boasts five opulently appointed cabins, each one a sanctuary of comfort and elegance. Two VIP cabins are located on the main deck, offering immediate access to the yacht's communal areas. These cabins are adorned with the finest materials and finishes, including backlit onyx, figurative timbers, and gold inlays.
Additionally, two more guest cabins are situated on the lower deck, crafted to ensure a tranquil retreat for guests. Emphasizing personalized comfort, these cabins feature luxurious textiles and a harmonious blend of decorative finishes. The pièce de résistance, however, is the grand bedroom, which forms part of the owner's suite – an expansive space that serves as a private haven for the yacht's owner.
The owner's domain is a marvel of luxury, occupying the entirety of the top deck. It is here that one finds the impressively sized cabin, complete with every imaginable amenity and a luxurious bathroom that rivals those of the world's finest hotels and complete with a private interior lounge and a terrace with a spa pool. The generous use of space and the inclusion of a dressing room replete with built-in storage and display solutions for garments and accessories, including a watch winder by Beco Technic. The attention to detail is evident in every aspect of the accommodation, from custom-designed storage solutions to integrated entertainment systems that offer an immersive audio-visual experience.
Leona's commitment to excellence extends beyond the guest accommodations to the crew quarters, designed to house a complement of 21. The crew's living spaces are thoughtfully planned to maintain efficiency and privacy, with separate passageways ensuring discreet service that does not intrude on the guest experience. The captain and first officer enjoy cabins on the bridge deck, and the entire crew benefits from well-appointed mess areas and relaxation rooms.
Performance & Capabilities
Leona is powered by twin diesel MTU (16V 4000 M73) 16-cylinder 2,525hp engines running at 1970rpm. Consuming approximately 250 liters of fuel per hour at a steady pace of 12 knots, Leona is equipped to balance fuel economy with the demands of extended voyages.
Leona's engineering is fine-tuned for impressive speed, with a cruising velocity of 15 knots that allows her to glide gracefully across the sea. For moments when time is of the essence, she can reach a top speed of 19 knots, ensuring that Leona is always poised to accelerate to the occasion.
With her 168,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 6,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots, meaning she is capable of undertaking long journeys without frequent refueling stops. This attribute is ideal for guests who seek the freedom to explore distant shores and secluded coves without the constraint of limited autonomy.
Leona adheres to the highest environmental standards, complying with IMO Tier III requirements. Her advanced exhaust-cleaning system, coupled with underwater exhaust, minimizes emissions and environmental impact, reaffirming Bilgin Yachts' commitment to eco-friendly practices without compromising on performance.
