Design & Construction
Designed around a fast displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 35'9" beam and a 11'6" draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,079 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
Construction started in mid 2018 with the keel laid under the project name 'Falcon'. This was the first yacht built on the Custom design. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in July 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in February 2022.
Exterior Design
Lusine's silhouette is a harmonious blend of strength and elegance, a visual representation of the vessel's lunar inspiration. Laupman, with his extensive experience and understanding of the yard's design ethos, has redefined the luxury yacht aesthetic with Lusine, creating Heesen's first four-deck vessel in the process.
A unique feature of Lusine is the wing stations and the wheelhouse deck overhang, which are designed to connect visually with the enclosed mast's sloping angles. These elements come together to form a 45-degree line that cascades down from the mast, reminiscent of a bird's wing. It is this attention to detail that defines the character of the yacht, setting Lusine apart from its contemporaries.
The sundeck serves as another highlight of Lusine's external allure. A touch-and-go helipad adorned with a crescent moon symbol signifies the lunar theme that is evident across all exterior decks. This space is not just functional but also a statement of luxury, allowing guests to arrive in style. Furthermore, the helipad is complemented by an enclosed mast, which houses an atrium designed to receive and welcome guests in an atmosphere of grandeur.
Lusine's main deck aft presents a sanctuary for relaxation and socializing. Sheltered by an overhang, this area is perfect for al fresco dining, featuring a bar and an informal seating area that invites guests to unwind in the open air while enjoying the yacht's exceptional service and amenities.
Attention to the owner's privacy and preferences is exemplified by the private terrace on the bridge deck. This exclusive space offers a multitude of entertainment options, including a spa pool, ensuring a serene and personal retreat for the owner and their guests.
Interior Design
Each deck on Lusine tells a story, articulated through a carefully curated selection of materials and finishes. Stainless steel inlays, pufferfish skin, and gold leaf accents are subtly integrated into the yacht's design, offering an understated elegance rather than overt opulence. The gold leaf, in particular, is toned to resemble a warm bronze hue, enhancing the yacht’s sophisticated palette.
The use of dark, high-gloss wood veneers such as walnut, mahogany, and Macassar adds depth and warmth to the interiors, while milky-white onyx marble provides a striking contrast in the central stairwell. The main saloon is a sanctuary of tranquility, with off-white upholstery and light oak parquet flooring that amplify the sense of space and light.
The centerpiece of the yacht's main deck lounge is the formal dining area, appointed with a custom table made of high-gloss Macassar wood and detailed with light sycamore inlays. The table features vibrant blue agate inlays, adding a pop of color and luxury to the dining experience. Above this, a bespoke brass chandelier by Preciosa, adorned with Bohemian crystals, casts a celestial glow over the diners.
Adding to the yacht's unique character, rare woods and precious materials such as stingray skin are employed with artisanal craftsmanship. Stargazing takes a literal form with blue-agate and straw-marquetry star map panels inlaid with palladium and moonstones, adorning the main deck saloon and dining area.
The narrative of Lusine's lunar inspiration is further enriched by a striking cream cut-leather wall covering that wraps around the central stairwell, depicting a thematic journey from the depths of the ocean to the far reaches of outer space. This culminates in a magnificent representation of the moon on the sundeck, reinforcing the yacht's celestial theme.
Accommodation
Catering to a discerning clientele, Lusine has been meticulously designed to accommodate 16 guests in grandeur. The yacht's guest quarters are located across multiple decks in eight suites, providing a versatile arrangement that can host a variety of guest configurations.
The master suite, situated on the upper deck, is a crowning achievement of Lusine's accommodation. This suite features a private terrace, offering the owner an exclusive outdoor space with breathtaking views of the ocean horizon. The master suite is designed with the utmost attention to detail, providing the owner with a personal retreat that is both opulent and functional. The suite is enhanced by custom lighting controls and window dressings that are conveniently managed from an inclined section of the nightstand, embodying the personalized experience that is central to life aboard.
The VIP suite on the main deck further exemplifies the yacht's luxurious accommodations. It boasts a private lounge, granting its occupants a heightened level of privacy and space. Like the master suite, the VIP quarters are designed with lowered countertops and chairs, ensuring that even when seated, guests can enjoy the expansive sea views without obstruction. The large windows and intentionally lowered bulwarks contribute to an immersive experience of the marine environment.
Guest accommodation on the lower deck continues the theme of bespoke luxury, with en suite facilities that offer both elegance and privacy. Each guest cabin features rare woods, precious materials, and intricate detailing that echo the celestial theme found throughout Lusine. These cabins are havens of tranquility, where guests can retire after a day of relaxation or entertainment.
The crew quarters are designed to accommodate 15 professionals and to provide a comfortable and functional living space, enabling crew members to perform their duties with efficiency and ease.
Performance & Capabilities
Lusine has an advanced Van Oossanen Fast-Displacement Hull Form, an innovative design that enhances efficiency and stability at sea. This cutting-edge hull design is paired with a carefully selected propulsion system designed to deliver a harmonious balance of speed and range, ensuring that Lusine can gracefully traverse the world's oceans while offering the utmost comfort to her guests.
Powered by twin diesel MTU (12V 4000 M65L) 12-cylinder 2,575hp engines, these provide both formidable power and exceptional fuel efficiency. Lusine is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 125,002-litre fuel tanks, she has a maximum range of 4,200 nautical miles at an economic speed of 12 knots.
Stabilizers are another crucial aspect of Lusine's performance profile. Whether at anchor or cutting through the swells, guests can expect an exceptionally smooth experience thanks to state-of-the-art stabilization systems. These not only reduce roll while underway but also minimize motion at anchor, providing an oasis of calm for those aboard.
While Lusine is designed to offer an unparalleled yachting experience, she is also equipped to handle the varying conditions encountered in different cruising grounds. With upgraded air-conditioning and chiller units to combat the high seawater temperatures in regions like Dubai, as mentioned, and specialized filters to deal with airborne sand, she is well-suited for both the challenges of Middle Eastern climates and the diverse environments around the globe.
Amenities
In addition, a swim platform is on hand for guests looking to cool off in the sea. The yacht can house plenty of nautical toys and accessories, with a well-appointed tender garage for storing her impressive locker. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down and an elevator makes the yacht fully-accessible. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
