Delivered in 2023, Optimism is a 37.07m motor yacht built by Emirati shipyard Gulf Craft. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Gulf Craft, while Cristiano Gatto Design is responsible for her interior design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement GRP hull and a carbon fibre superstructure she features a 8.09m beam and a 2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 290 GT (Gross Tonnes).

This was the fourth yacht built on the Majesty 120 design. She was delivered to her owners in November 2023.

Exterior Design

Optimism features a high-raked bow and elevated foredeck sides, giving it a dynamic forward profile. The foredeck is primarily designated for operational duties, but also includes an elevated guest area with sun pads and U-shaped banquette seating under the shade of the bridge, complete with versatile tables for guest convenience.

The sun deck includes a jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads and outward-leaning glazed guard rails to maximize the view while ensuring safety. Under the radar canopy's shade, a large sofa and bar with counter stools provide a relaxing space, with sun loungers further aft next to the port side stairway leading to the deck below.

At the water's edge, the transom and bathing platform can be used as a beach club or for tender stowage. On Optimism, the beach club option features stylish teak table and chairs, and a smart teak deck extending to the spacious bathing platform when the transom door is raised. Twin staircases lead up to the main deck aft, where rattan woven armchairs sit opposite large banquette seating. 

The side profile of Optimism showcases extensive glazing, ensuring ample light flows into the lower deck accommodation spaces. On the main deck, the lowered bulwarks are replaced with glazing and guard rails, enhancing views from the main salon and dining area. Curvilinear elements of the superstructure create a seamless connection between the main and upper decks, further emphasizing the yacht's dynamic design.

Interior Design

The interior styling onboard Optimism features a contemporary palette embracing tones of grey, with soft silver accents and dashes of white. The main salon features long low sofas on either side ensuring the wide open views can be enjoyed from all angles.  Two darker grey armchairs provide contrast and scatter cushions introduce the darker elements of black and silver for contrast. Neutral rugs sit atop the marble floors. The definition between the salon and the dining area is achieved using a well-placed sofa and cabinetry, in addition, the dining table and chairs are placed on dark wooden floors with a heavy grain, for further contrast between the two spaces. Large artwork in four defined sections is a focal point of the back wall. There is a dark wooden trim featured within the ceiling panels.

The cabins follow a cream and light wood aesthetic with dark wood trim playing its part in creating definition within the space. Black cushions and cream cushions with a black trim create contrast against crisp white bedding and the cream walls with light wood cabinetry. 

Accommodation

Optimism offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in six suites. The master cabin is located forward on the main deck. It features a king-sized berth and a private lounge area. The ensuite bathroom is elegantly finished with marble, providing a touch of sophistication. Additional guest cabins are situated on the lower deck. These include one VIP cabin, two double cabins, and two twin cabins.

She is also capable of carrying up to seven crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V2000M96L) 2,600hp engines, motor yacht Optimism is capable of reaching a top speed of 18 knots, and comfortably cruises at 13 knots. With her 24,340 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at an economic speed of 10 knots.
