- Luxurious master suite
- Sun deck with Jacuzzi and bar
- Multipurpose large aft deck with sliding screens
Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 2.8m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 506 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of the yacht Ramble On features a large aft deck, built to be multipurpose. It is protected from excessive sun by the boat deck above and can be shielded from strong winds by sliding screens on either side. In colder weather, it can be fully enclosed with a flexible screen across the stern. Within this area, guests can relax on cushioned seating, while twin curving stairs on either side lead down to the bathing platform, which is also used for boarding the yacht's tenders. Two wing control stations provide good visibility and direct control of the engines for docking.
The foredeck provides a comfortable area for guests while the yacht is running. It features a semicircle of seating and tables, all integrated into the forward part of the superstructure. This area offers a cool breeze and is accessible via a walk along the teak side-decks.
The boat deck is designed as a venue for larger gatherings. When the two tenders are launched and their chocks removed, the area can be shaded with a large awning. Even with the tenders in place, there is still enough space for a sizeable table and a settee against the aft rail.
The deck also includes a shaded dining area, more secluded than the main deck. This area features two horseshoe settees and tables facing each other across the central entrance to the boat deck saloon. Like the main deck, this area can be fully enclosed with a flexible plastic screen and can be heated if necessary.
The sun deck is elevated to ensure privacy and offers excellent views. It includes amenities found on the lower decks, plus additional features. A centrally placed Jacuzzi is located between two circular cushioned sunbathing areas. A door in the funnel structure opens to reveal a toilet and shower, a fridge and bar, a small servery, and a dumb waiter to the galley.
Interior Design
The main deck's saloon furniture features patterned apple mahogany panelling and pink granite tops the low divider separating the saloon from the dining area. The darker wood tones are offset by a pale gloss lacquered ceiling and light-coloured carpeting and upholstery.
The dining saloon is particularly noteworthy for its custom cabinetry, designed to house the yacht's tableware. This labor-intensive task required two months of dedicated work. The galley, adjacent to the dining area, is panelled in French oak and laid out with input from a professional chef. It is highly functional and well-equipped, featuring kick panels that operate the door to the dining room effortlessly. A dumbwaiter system ensures efficient service across all decks, including the lowest level where the freezer and storerooms are located.
The boat deck offers a shaded dining area, more private than the one on the main deck. Two horseshoe settees and their accompanying tables face each other across the entrance to the boat deck saloon. This area can be fully enclosed with a flexible plastic screen and can be heated if necessary.
The sun deck features a centrally placed spa-bath between two circular cushioned sunbathing areas. Additional amenities include a toilet, shower, hi-fi controls, a fridge, a bar, a small servery, and a dumbwaiter to the galley, all discreetly housed within the funnel structure. This deck is designed for both privacy and enhanced views.
The bridge deck includes a sun lounge with a mix of pale oak furniture and bright fabrics, creating a functional indoor-outdoor living space. The bridge itself features a semi-circular seating area upholstered in green leather, centred on an octagonal table with storage for international code flags. The area is designed for efficiency, with unobstructed panoramic views and state-of-the-art radars, control equipment, and navigation gear arranged by the Radio Holland group. Two wing control stations outside provide good visibility and direct engine control for docking.
Accommodation
Ramble On can host up to 10 guests across five staterooms. The master suite occupies the front section of the main deck. This suite is decorated with Hermes fabrics and includes an inbuilt sitting area. The master suite features a spacious en-suite bathroom that doubles as a dressing room, outfitted with Portuguese rose marble.
The lower deck houses four guest cabins: three doubles and one twin. These cabins open off a central lobby at the base of a stairway from the main saloon. The cabins are equipped with televisions and en-suite facilities. The woodwork in these cabins is crafted from burr maple, maintaining a light and airy atmosphere.
Eight crew members can be accommodated in four roomy cabins located in the bow of the yacht on the lower deck. Each crew cabin includes en-suite shower and heads. The captain's cabin is situated adjacent to the bridge. Additionally, the lower level houses walk-in freezers and dry storerooms, creating space for a large crew mess and a well-equipped laundry room. The light oak-lined crew areas are designed and decorated to a high standard, comparable to the guest accommodations on many contemporary yachts.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3508 DI-TA) 8-cylinder 775hp engines, motor yacht Ramble On is capable of reaching a top speed of 14 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 50,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,606 nautical miles at an economic speed of 11 knots.
