Design & Construction
Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 12.6m beam and a 3.45m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 2,312 GT (Gross Tonnes).
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in January 2015 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2015.
Exterior Design
Romea's expansive deck areas are thoughtfully appointed to offer a myriad of experiences to her guests. The sun deck is crowned with a luxurious Jacuzzi surrounded by sun pads, providing a serene spot for relaxation and soaking in the panoramic views. The yacht's beach club beckons with its elaborate design, featuring a Finnish sauna and a media room, offering guests a tranquil retreat at sea level.
The attention to detail is evident in the yacht's outdoor amenities, where the promenade decks rival those found on boutique cruise ships. The layout is designed to facilitate smooth movement and effortless access to the yacht's various exterior spaces. Guests can enjoy the convenience of walkaround decks that lead to intimate seating areas, perfect for enjoying the sea breeze or engaging in social gatherings.
Romea's outdoor areas provide secluded nooks that ensure an intimate experience amid the vastness of the ocean. From the discreet terrace adjoined to the owner's suite to the private lounging areas, guests can find solace in these carefully crafted spaces that offer a sense of seclusion and exclusivity.
Interior Design
RoMEA features an astonishing array of 182 different finishes, each meticulously curated from various corners of the globe, exemplifying a luxurious and cultured ambiance that permeates throughout the yacht.
RoMEA's dining area has an exquisite table, a masterpiece that combines both artistry and resilience. The hand-carved base supports a lacquered top finished with a durable Japanese lacquer, a material traditionally used on Samurai sword scabbards. This lacquering process involves the application of numerous layers each requiring time to harden. Its completion only reveals the full effect of the intricate design, allowing for the fine-tuning of surrounding finishes such as the hand-sanded, carved oak panels that resonate with the table's pattern.
Beyond the dining table, the yacht's interior is an symphony of oak, leather, silk, and stone. These materials blend to create a soothing palette that offers comfort without visual overload.
The designer's approach to Romea's interior is consistent with the philosophy of avoiding "glitz and visual ostentation." Instead, a focus on creating a serene environment that is both aesthetically pleasing and functional is evident. The attention to detail extends to tactile experiences as well, with thick silk carpets and rounded pebble textures adding to the sensory richness of the yacht.
Accommodation
Accommodation aboard RoMEA is generously proportioned, with spaces designed to host up to 12 guests in unparalleled comfort and style. The yacht features six lavish cabins, each crafted with the utmost attention to detail and furnished with the finest materials to ensure a serene and sumptuous stay.
The centerpiece of Romea's guest accommodations is the owner's suite, which spans approximately half of the upper deck's interior. This luxurious suite is a haven of tranquility, complete with a cabin for children, a spacious study, and his-and-hers baths and dressing rooms of identical size. The suite is crowned by a magnificent bedroom, where the bed, positioned at the center of wraparound windows, offers uninterrupted views of the tranquil ocean landscape. The suite opens onto a discreet terrace, offering an intimate connection with the sea.
Guest cabins on Romea are no less impressive, situated in prime locations on the main deck to ensure that every stay is memorable. These cabins are not only vast and inviting but also soundproofed to guarantee serene and restful nights.
For the crew, Romea has been thoughtfully designed with practicality and efficiency in mind. The yacht features two dedicated decks for crew quarters, accommodating a team of 23 highly trained professionals. These spaces include a galley, split-level engine room, garage, laundry, and stores — all strategically designed to support the crew in delivering an exceptional level of service.
