Design & Construction

Construction started in late 2007. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. She was delivered to her owners in November 2010.

Exterior Design

The remarkable beam of Man of Steel measures 14.20 meters (46'7"), providing a substantial platform for its spacious decks. Painted in distinguished Flag Blue, the hull enhances the vessel's commanding presence on the water, reflecting Oceanco's commitment to both form and function. The sharply raked bow meets the foredeck seamlessly, maintaining a clean line with subtle curvature to accommodate side balconies.

The main deck aft features an expansive pool deck with a shaded dining and bar area. The ingeniously designed 6.4 by 3.6-meter pool is flush with the deck, with a bottom that can be raised to create additional deck space. Twin curved staircases lead from the main deck aft pool area to the expansive bathing platform, where a unique glass panel within the pool's transom section adds a distinctive touch. Large stainless deck and mooring furniture is strategically placed on the quarter deck for operational ease.

Looking forward and upward from the stern, Man of Steel showcases central sections of silver grey on each deck level, creating visual interest as the yacht ascends through each level to the prominent radar and navigation mast atop. The mast is adorned with large black carbon wings on each side, reminiscent of taking flight. This silver grey detailing extends to the side decks, meeting with stylish moldings with a reverse dynamic.

The yacht Man of Steel combines a sharply raked bow and Flag Blue hull for a commanding presence with impressive performance capabilities.

Interior Design

Crafted in collaboration between Nuvolari Lenard and Molly Isaksen, the interior of the yacht Man of Steel presents contemporary elegance. Cream furnishings are complemented by light woods, while vibrant contemporary art adds a lively touch. Indirect lighting intricately designed throughout the yacht creates a floating effect, enhancing the sense of spaciousness and natural light.

Entering the main saloon, guests are greeted by a vast space anchored by a large U-shaped sofa in soft grey, surrounded by bookcases. A curved corner bar area, subtly inspired by Art Deco design, offers seating in pale blue leather, perfect for enjoying views of the water. A striking ceiling feature with an abstract linear wood design and inset lighting adds warmth and sophistication to the social hub.

Throughout the yacht, Persian rugs adorn the oak flooring, adding warmth and texture, while cushions infuse pops of color into the serene ambiance. Man of Steel boasts a cutting-edge private cinema with tiered seating and a 10-square-meter screen, ensuring unparalleled entertainment for guests.

The circular dining area, with full-height doors offering panoramic views, accommodates 12 guests in style. Cream-paneled walls with wooden accents and a modern circular ceiling with inset lighting create an inviting atmosphere.

The private office features a sleek cherry red wood desk, complemented by mid-century-styled chairs and ample cabinetry with inset lighting beneath large windows. Abstract artwork throughout the yacht adds vibrant splashes of color, creating visual interest and contrast against the neutral palette, further enhancing the contemporary charm of Man of Steel's interior.

A lobby embodies a sense of serenity and sophistication with its uncluttered design. A Miles Van der Rohe Barcelona daybed rests gracefully on a luxurious Persian rug, positioned before a trio of expansive windows that flood the space with natural light. Large abstract artworks adorn the walls, adding creative interest to this tranquil open area.

This capability allows her to undertake extensive voyages without the need for frequent refueling stops, making her an ideal yacht for long-distance cruising.

For additional control, Man of Steel is equipped with a Jastram 300 kW electric bow thruster and a Veth 250 kW retractable, rotatable stern thruster. These thrusters provide the yacht with exceptional directional command during docking and undocking procedures.

The onboard electrical systems are meticulously designed to ensure uninterrupted power. The yacht is serviced by two MTU and one Stamford generator, offering substantial power generation capabilities, complemented by a dedicated emergency generator for added safety and reliability.

As part of the yacht's comprehensive hydraulic system, each consumer device benefits from its own hydraulic power pack, ensuring smooth and efficient operation of the yacht's numerous amenities and systems.

For guest comfort, Man of Steel features a state-of-the-art Heinen & Hopman air conditioning system, which operates on a chilled water loop with individual refrigeration loops to maintain an optimal onboard climate.

Water management onboard is equally sophisticated, with two HEM reverse osmosis desalination systems and a HEM freshwater treatment skid ensuring an ample supply of fresh, clean water. The yacht's Evac vacuum toilet system, with its efficient waste management technology, underscores the vessel's commitment to environmental responsibility and guest comfort.
