Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 9.3m beam and a 3.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 692 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2002. Launched in July 2005 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in January 2006.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of Talisman Maiton is characterized by its graceful hull form and streamlined appearance. The design, conceived by Dubois, emphasizes a long and lean look, enhanced by the yacht’s lower position in the water due to the absence of a stern tender garage. The hull features a well-judged 'knuckle' or crease line in the forebody, adding a subtle lift to the sheerline that is visually pleasing.

The extended stern accommodates a larger boarding platform, contributing to the vessel's extended, sleek profile. Twin Seatel aerial domes are positioned high, optimizing internet connectivity and providing an observation platform partway up the mast for panoramic views.

The sundeck is designed for outdoor enjoyment, featuring a forward spa pool with large sunpads, two tables with curved sofas, a bar, and a barbecue counter. A stainless steel ladder leads to the 'crow's nest' for additional viewing pleasure. The sundeck also houses a smaller RIB tender and personal watercraft.

The upper deck offers a 12-place round table for alfresco dining, complemented by cocktail tables and sofas. The upper saloon, accessed through curved glass doors, includes a games room, computer stations, and a deeply upholstered curved sofa for relaxation.

Interior Design

The main hallway is notable for its onyx floor and black lacquer stairwell with chrome handrails. The open-plan main saloon and dining room exhibit walls paneled in high gloss flame mahogany, accented with recessed lines of polished stainless steel. The seating includes original art deco sofas upholstered in silver velour, complemented by fringed black and silver cushions. A circular mirror with a mahogany surround is positioned in the center of the ceiling, reflecting the round coffee table below.

The bar in the aft corner features an onyx counter edged with black leather and black embossed leather bar stools. Lighting is a significant aspect of the interior, with programmable lights controlled via the Raco infra-red wireless switch system. The dining room houses an ebony oval table outlined with silver, surrounded by beige leather chairs. A carved black jaguar is a focal point on the sideboard.

The upper saloon has a multifunctional layout with a planked walnut floor. The starboard side serves as a games room leading into a lobby equipped with computer screens for internet access or arcade games. The port side is more relaxed, featuring a deeply upholstered curved sofa facing a large pop-up screen for film and television viewing.

Forward from the main lobby, the owner’s suite includes a study and minibar with hammered bronze walls. The bedroom features floor-to-ceiling windows, a black and silver color scheme, and gloss mahogany joinery. The owner's bathroom is adorned with figured onyx on the floor and counters, highlighted by a back-lit panel above the bath. The shower compartment has a glass wall embossed with rainbow curves reminiscent of 1930s ocean liners.

Accommodation

Talisman Maiton offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites. The owner's suite is a standout feature, providing ample space and luxury. Located on the main deck, it includes a private study and mini-bar. The bedroom itself boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, creating an open and airy atmosphere. The suite is decorated in a sophisticated color scheme of black, silver, and white, complemented by high-gloss mahogany joinery. The bathroom in the owner's suite is particularly noteworthy, featuring extensive use of figured onyx with a back-lit panel above the bath and a glass wall in the shower compartment embossed with art deco designs.

The VIP suite, slightly smaller than the owner's suite, offers a more contemporary style with leather wall panels and large windows along one side. The lower deck houses four additional guest cabins, each uniquely designed with contemporary aesthetics. These cabins are equipped with en suite bathrooms that feature attractive marble finishes. The cabins provide a comfortable and stylish retreat for guests, ensuring a pleasant stay.

The crew accommodation on Talisman Maiton is designed to be both functional and comfortable, accommodating 13 crew members. The captain's cabin is situated adjacent to the bridge, offering easy access for operational needs. The remaining crew quarters are located forward.
