Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.8m beam and a 2.2m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 675 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.

Construction started in mid 1989. She was delivered to her owners in June 1994.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the yacht Turquoise features a uniquely designed, hydraulically-operated passerelle that integrates with the swimming platform, folding neatly away when not in use.

Twin stairways located on either side of the engine room entrance lead up to the main deck. Here, guests find themselves between two identical tenders that were custom-built in England, showcasing the yacht's commitment to quality and customisation even in its auxiliary craft.

The upper deck of Turquoise is designed for both entertainment and relaxation. A partially sheltered area includes an oval wood table that can accommodate 12 guests for outdoor dining. This space is equipped with ample serving and storage units, catering to both food and drinks, and features full-width seating at the aft end for lounging.

Ascending from the upper deck via an open-tread circular stair, guests arrive at the sun deck. This area boasts a large spa pool at its forward end, complemented by a raised sunbathing area to starboard outfitted with blue toweling cushions. To port, a bar serves the deck, while a large semi-circular seating area with tables fills the aft section, creating an inviting space for relaxation and socializing.

Turquoise boasts luxurious accommodations for 10 guests across six suites, extensive entertainment areas on the upper deck, and a fully equipped galley, interior design with mirrored ceilings and marble flooring.

Interior Design

The interior design of Turquoise makes extensive use of mirrored ceilings and rich marble flooring, enhancing the sense of space and light throughout the yacht.

The main saloon is characterized by its well-proportioned space, offering an intimate setting for relaxation. It features an ivory-lacquered cabinet that discreetly houses the television. The use of wood paneling along the walls, complemented by carefully placed artifacts and art, adds to the room's warmth and character.

Adjacent to the saloon, the formal dining area is equipped to seat 12 around an oval glass table, which is supported by antique gold-painted columns. The room's ambiance is further refined by an octagonal recessed lacquered ceiling with concealed lighting, alongside ivory pillars that frame the circular stairway leading to the upper saloon. An electrically-operated door connecting to the pantry and galley facilitates efficient service, highlighting the practical considerations embedded in the yacht's design.

The galley, positioned amidships, is fully equipped to meet the culinary needs of guests and crew alike. It serves as a central point from which meals are prepared and distributed, demonstrating a blend of functionality and design.

In the upper saloon, panoramic windows allow natural light to flood the space, enhancing the visual appeal of materials such as ostrich leather settees and wooden easy chairs. The saloon is designed for both entertainment and relaxation, with built-in white-lacquered cabinets that conceal a television and video equipment.

The helm is equipped with state-of-the-art navigation, communications, and safety equipment, ensuring operational excellence. Remote controls on each wing of the walk-around deck in front of the wheelhouse simplify maneuvering, integrating technology with design to enhance functionality.

Accommodation

Turquoise is designed to accommodate up to 10 guests across six suites, ensuring a high level of service and attention to detail.

Positioned prominently on the main deck's forward section, the owner's suite is a pivotal feature of Turquoise's layout. This suite boasts a large sitting area, a master bedroom with a king-sized bed, a dedicated office space, and a well-equipped bathroom with dual basins and a sizable whirlpool tub. A children's bedroom within the suite, fitted with bunk beds and an adjoining bathroom, makes it perfect for families. Large rectangular windows enhanced with Japanese shoji screens offer both privacy and a unique decorative touch.

For guests, Turquoise has four double cabins on the lower deck, two furnished with double beds and two with single beds. These cabins are decorated with a harmonious blend of muted fabrics, beige carpeting, ivory walls, and highly glossed wood paneling, complemented by matching shoji screens. Each guest cabin has an en-suite marble-floored bathroom equipped with a bath, basin, head, and bidet, offering privacy and comfort.

Crew quarters are located on the lower deck forward, designed to comfortably accommodate nine crew members. These cabins are finished in mahogany and each features a private shower and toilet. The area also contains a spacious crew mess and a fully-equipped guest laundry, supporting the crew's needs and facilitating superior service to guests and the owner.
