ALEXA, Cantiere delle Marche’s latest Darwin 86 launched

Built for long-distance travel, this explorer yacht is ready to cruise to remote destinations.

Cantiere delle Marche has announced the successful launch of the Darwin 86 ALEXA, the seventh vessel in the Darwin 86 series since the shipyard began operations in 2010.

This launch brings the total number of Darwin yachts delivered or nearing delivery to 12, ranging from 86 to 112 feet. ALEXA features a distinctive design by Hydro Tec, showcasing the unique Darwin aesthetics while benefiting from CdM's advanced approach to technical areas to ensure it's a highly functional explorer yacht capable of cruising thousands of nautical miles.

ALEXA

The interiors of the Darwin 86 Alexa have been developed by Floris Design, a longstanding collaborator with Cantiere delle Marche.

The brief from the owner was to have a practical and functional boat without sacrificing elegance and comfort."

The yacht can host up to nine guests in four cabins on the lower deck, which also features a spa with a sauna, shower, and relaxation area. This spa can be transformed into a private area connected to the owner’s cabin via a sliding door. The overall ambiance is relaxing, achieved by blending a warm color palette with earthy tones.

ALEXA

Designed for long voyages at high latitudes, ALEXA features enhanced hull and rudder scantlings to withstand icy conditions. The upper deck stern terrace is built in steel instead of aluminum, all floors are heated, and the cockpit can be enclosed to allow guests to enjoy the landscape even in cold temperatures. Social areas on both the main and upper decks feature bespoke furniture, complemented by pieces from renowned manufacturers.

All explorer yachts built by Cantiere delle Marche are known for their inherent quality and superior technical equipment, making them unparalleled in seaworthiness, redundant equipment, robust steel hulls, spacious engine rooms, and ample storage."

Crew quarters are located on the main deck forward, next to the galley and a large crew mess, and are directly connected to the wheelhouse on the upper deck by a dedicated staircase. Among the owner's requests were a fourth pilot station on the sundeck and additional fridges to store garbage on long passages.

The new Darwin 86 is powered by twin MAN engines delivering 500hp each.
