Baglietto Sells Two DOM 133s in Two Weeks

The two sales bring the total to four hulls sold and a fifth currently under construction for the largest model in its DOM line.

Baglietto has confirmed the burgeoning state of the superyacht market with two sales of its 40m (131ft) DOM 133 yacht in two weeks.

The DOM 133 is the largest model in the DOM line which takes its name from ‘Domus’, the Latin word for home. The two recent sales take the number of DOM 133 yachts in the order book up to four, with a fifth hull in build and ready for delivery in 2024.

Baglietto’s CCO, Fabio Ermetto, explains what he thinks has made the line so popular:

“That of DOM 133, four hulls sold in just a matter of weeks, is an unprecedented success, although, perhaps, not a surprising one, considering what it stems from: extraordinary volumes for a yacht of this size, modern and captivating lines, and a layout leaving no market needs unmet – all ingredients that make the DOM 133 just the ideal cruiser.

“It can indeed offer her guests a beach club on two levels, where the infinity pool lifting bottom can rise to make the already spacious cockpit even larger; panoramic windows that open up to become terraces; the possibility to install a lift; and, not least of all, a limited draught allowing to easily cruise even in the shallow waters of the Bahamas.”

Built with an aluminum superstructure, the DOM 133 features highly customizable exteriors and interiors. It is equipped with a propulsion system that combines traditional diesel engines, e-motors, and batteries to decide consumption and environmental impact. In diesel-electric mode, the DOM 133 has a range of up to 7,500nm and its twin Caterpillar C32 engines give a top speed of 17 knots.

In keeping with the concept of creating a home from home, the main deck layout has been designed to ensure a natural connection between interior and exterior spaces and to create a convivial atmosphere.

Based across sites in La Spezia and La Carrara, Baglietto is one of the world’s oldest motor yacht builders, dating back to 1854. Typically known for building planing aluminum yachts in the 40m to 50m (131ft to 164ft) range, Baglietto focuses on semi and full-custom builds.
