Baglietto's sleek new 42m Superfast yacht looks the part and hits 28 knots

Baglietto’s Superfast 42 will reach speeds of up to 28 knots and is set to be delivered in 2022.

Italian shipyard Baglietto has revealed its new Superfast 42 superyacht project for the first time.

In keeping with its name the 42m (138ft) yacht is capable of reaching speeds of up to 28 knots and has been built for a European Owner who plans on spending plenty of time out on the deck with friends and family.

The Owner’s desires have been reflected in a design characterized by impressive volumes. A fold-down transom creates a big swim platform and reveals a beach club, with sofas and a bar, ready for relaxation and socializing.

Large sunpads furnish the bow, with more space for sunbathing aft of the skylounge. She also features a side-opening tender garage for quick and convenient hauling of tenders.

A traditional layout inside sees the full-beam master stateroom located forward on the main deck, with four additional cabins, made up of two double VIPs and two twins found on the lower deck. The wheelhouse is on the upper deck, and connects directly to a large sky lounge which also features a cinema room.

Exterior design comes courtesy of Francesco Paszkowski, a common collaborator on many of its new yachts for sale, with the Superfast 42 featuring a slender hull and an aggressive exterior complemented by extensive use of glazed surfaces.

The impressive top speed of 28 knots comes courtesy of the high-performing hull and three MTU Engines. She also has a limited draft of 2.1m (7ft), giving her access to shallower waters.

Being built at Baglietto’s La Spezia based shipyard, the Superfast 42 is scheduled for delivery in summer 2022.

Founded in 1854, Baglietto specializes in custom superyachts and has built 49 boats with an average length of 41.1m (135ft) since the turn of the Millenium. The 59.4m (195ft) charter yacht VICKY, delivered in 2009, is its largest build.

This year looks like being particularly busy, with five superyachts scheduled for delivery ranging from the 37.3m (122ft) ‘Run Away’ to the 47.6m (156ft) Baglietto 10233, the latest hull from its successful T-Line 48 series.

It enjoys a particularly close relationship with Francesco Paszkowski, who is responsible for the exterior design of the Superfast 42, having worked with the Italian-based design studio on 26 yachts already.
