World debuts get British Motor Yacht Show to a flying start

The British Motor Yacht Show’s best ever new model line up is being showcased at Premier Marinas Swanwick, as the venue in the south of England hosts a series of COVID delayed world debuts.

With the 2021 edition of the British Motor Yacht Show (BMYS) getting underway on Monday, visitors have enjoyed some truly notable world premieres along with plenty of sunshine and high temperatures.

Building on the success of BMYS 2020 a number of international brands, including Azimut, Beneteau and Cranchi have joined established British brands such as Sunseeker, Princess, Pearl and Fairline to see some of the most sought after yachts in the 10m to 25m (32.8ft to 82ft) range on display.

However it has been the Sunseeker stand that is home to the main attractions, with the Manhattan 55, Predator 55 EVO and Predator 74 XPS all making their world debuts following the cancellation of a number of boat shows due to the Coronavirus pandemic. These three models, along with Sunseeker’s 76 yacht, the biggest yacht at the show, have so far been the focus of much of the attention.

Elsewhere brokers have confirmed the huge demand for yachts in the UK at the moment, as Owners look to enjoy a summer staycation in light of the ongoing COVID19 restrictions. Models such as Cranchi’s T43, the Sealine F430, the Pearl 62, the Princess S66 and the Galeon 640 Fly with their seamless connection between interior and exterior spaces and retractable roofs have also been the center of much attention.

Aside from yachts the Raymarine stand offers the latest in marine electronics, Pantaenius is on hand to offer marine insurance advice and a selection of Sur Marine and Kawasaki watersports equipment are on display.

A bookable viewing system, additional space between exhibits and displays and regular hand cleansing stations has also ensured a COVID secure start to the show.
