CRN releases key details about 52m custom superyacht CRN 142

Extensive use of glass and large al-fresco dining areas are two of the main features of the in-build superyacht.

Italian yard CRN has revealed svelte exterior lines, a near-vertical bow and large al-fresco dining spaces are the key characteristics of its new bespoke superyacht 52m (170.6ft) CRN 142.

The yard has given the first design details on the 499GT motor yacht since it announced the hull was positioned and structural work and pre-fitting was in progress in March.

Elsewhere lots of glass and panoramic views are standout features on the all-aluminium CRN 142 with an expanse of full-height tinted glazing on the main and upper decks and three generous windows on the wheelhouse.

CRN has turned again to Dutch designer Omega Architects for her exterior areas, a third collaboration between the two parties, and Massari Designs for her interiors.

The signature arches of Omega Architect’s Frank Laupman can be seen on the main aft deck, framing the extensive views for Owner and guests. Whilst the welcoming interiors, bring what CRN call a “linear simplicity and crispness of form”.

The hallmark of the four-deck yacht, according to the builder, is her “large, sumptuous open-air spaces” where the “inside and outside merge into one”.

CRN 142 offers accommodation for ten guests in a main-deck Owner’s suite and four VIP cabins below.

CRN also revealed earlier this year that a strong emphasis has been placed on fuel efficiency and weight reduction. The hull and appendages have been optimized to reduce drag, and special lightweight materials, along with the aluminum hull and superstructure, are being used in construction.
