Ferretti Group opens refurbished La Spezia shipyard

Following the overhaul, the site will now be capable of launching an additional 30 yachts per year.

On May 17, the Ferretti Group officially inaugurated its Riva shipyard in La Spezia, Italy. The ceremony was attended by Chairman Tan Xuguang, CEO Alberto Galassi, local authorities, and a delegation from Weichai, the Group’s long-standing shareholder.

The La Spezia site now holds a crucial industrial role, employing over 750 workers, including 200 direct employees. It serves as a strategic center for the Ferretti Group in the Ligurian and Tyrrhenian Seas.

The refurbishment included updates to production and management areas of the shipyard, where Riva yachts are built, as well as a lounge area for owners, captains, and crew. Spanning 64,000 square meters, the site features 33 berths along over 400m (1,312ft) of docks, four industrial sheds with 21 production stations, and two additional sheds of 1,000 square meters for painting.

The production center, equipped with photovoltaic plants and specialized spaces like the Riva Lounge, focuses on seven Riva models ranging from 23-40m (76-130ft). Once fully operational, the site will be able to launch an additional 30 boats per year, up to 40m (130ft) in length.
