Following on from the December 2020 announcement of the Fleming 85, Fleming Yachts has revealed that several vessels of this model are already either cruising the seas or in the final stages of preparation.
Intended to set new standards in the realm of semi-displacement raised pilothouse cruising yachts, the F85 promised to marry luxury with ocean-crossing capabilities, and the first three Fleming 85 yachts have been received with exceptional feedback.
As the yachting world continues to evolve, so do the desires of yacht owners and enthusiasts. The new Fleming 85 addresses these desires by offering both an open and an enclosed flybridge version, catering to a wider range of tastes and environmental considerations. This flexibility has opened up new markets for Fleming Yachts, with the enclosed bridge design of hull #003 being a significant talking point.
A new production facility in Kaohsiung City, Taiwan, has been opened and dedicated solely to building the Fleming 85, representing a significant investment and commitment by Fleming to ensure the highest quality standards. This facility enables the manufacturer to have unparalleled control over the build process, ensuring that each new Fleming 85 meets the exacting standards that the brand is known for.
The promise of the Fleming 85's performance on the water is equally impressive. With a range of 3,700nm at 8.5 knots and 2,700nm at 10 knots with 10% reserves, the F85 is designed for long-distance cruising without the need for frequent refueling. The yacht's 25-knot cruising speed is a testament to its engineering, providing a blend of efficiency and power that is rare in yachts of this class. The inclusion of a lithium-ion house battery bank with a capacity of 1,400 amp-hours and 12kW of inverter power as standard equipment underscores Fleming's commitment to self-sufficiency and reliability on extended voyages.
While eager buyers and show attendees might have to wait a bit longer for the boat show premiere of the F85, the anticipation only adds to the draw of this yacht. Fleming Yachts is not rushing the process, ensuring that each yacht is commissioned properly and that owners are fully trained to handle their new vessel with confidence and safety.
