Gulf Craft launches world’s largest composite yacht

Middle-Eastern based yacht builder Gulf Craft has announced the launch of the 53.34m (175ft) Majesty 175, both the world’s largest composite superyacht and its largest yacht to date.

After four years under construction, the tri-deck superyacht Majesty 175 was launched in front of her owner at a ceremony in the UAE.

While other competitor builders have traditionally switched to aluminium or steel at around 50m, here, advanced composite materials are used.

The Majesty 175's design and build also features a very low 2.25m (7ft 4in) draft, allowing her to navigate shallower waters that would be off-limits to other similarly sized yachts.

Powered by twin MTU engines, the hull design also delivers a range of 4,000nm at a cruising speed of 10 knots, with a top speed closer to 16.5 knots.

I’m proud of everyone who contributed to this magnificent jewel and to launch it today as the largest composite production megayacht in the world.

Gulf Craft’s Chairman Mohammed Hussein Alshaali was excited by the launch of its flagship model, saying: “This is a very special day in the history of Gulf Craft. I’m proud of everyone who contributed to this magnificent jewel and to launch it today as the largest composite production megayacht in the world.

"This project took four years of hard work and dedication from the entire team to manufacture. I believe that with the Majesty 175, we have set a new trend in the market that many shipyards in the world will follow."

First announced at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2016, her interior and exterior lines are penned by Italian-based design studio Cristiano Gatto, with the Yankee Delta Studio responsible for the naval architecture. The result is, what certainly seems to be, the most accomplished and impressive build to date from Gulf Craft.

Inside the 780 Gross Tonne superyacht, accommodation is offered for 14 guests in seven spacious staterooms. The light and airy owner’s suite is situated forward of the upper deck and has dual side access to a 5m long infinity pool. There are also six cabins for crew members and private accommodation for the Captain.

Other highlights include a hybrid sky-lounge that can be converted to an open sun deck and a fully automated system for controlling audio and video devices, lights, curtains and blinds.
