Mangusta celebrates with two launches in a week

The second hull of Mangusta’s GranSport 33 line and the 14th hull of its iconic Mangusta 165 were launched this week, with both set to be delivered by next summer.

Overmarine Group revealed it has been a busy period for its Mangusta brand with the launch of two yachts in just over a week.

First to hit the water was hull number two of its GranSport 33 line, before a few days later the 14th hull of its iconic Mangusta 165, and the fifth in the ‘E’ series was launched.

The GranSport is the link between Mangusta’s coastal Maxi Open range and the long-range Oceano models. The first hull debuted at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2020 and was sold to an American client, the second hull is also heading back to the USA.

As Stefano Arlunno, Mangusta President Americas, explains there are some differences between the first two vessels sold: “The Mangusta brand is conquering an increasing number of American owners, thanks to both its yachts’ stylish exterior lines and the huge volumes and versatility found on every single vessel. The second unit, unlike the first, has been configured with an open sundeck, allowing her guests to enjoy cruising en plein air in the Bahamas”.

The new owner will be able to take advantage of a 40 square-meter (132 sq. ft) master stateroom, with a large sundeck complete with lounge, sunbathing area and Jacuzzi pool another highlight. Elsewhere the aft platform can be extended to create a fully-equipped beach club and the tender garage can house a 5.65m (18.5ft) tender and two jet-skis.

The Alberto Mancini penned superyacht is equipped with four Volvo Penta D13 735kW (~1000HP) engines coupled with four IPS pods to deliver a top speed of 25 knots and a long-range at cruising speed.

The Mangusta 165E is being built for a European client and features a layout tailored specifically to her Owner’s wishes, featuring six cabins plus an extra cabin used as a wellness area and fitted with a massage table.

She can reach a maximum speed of 37 knots thanks to 4 MTU 16V 2000 M96L engines and 4 Kamewa waterjets and her limited draft of 1.9m (6.2ft) makes her suited to cruising in shallow waters too.

“This yacht will allow her Owner to enjoy an unsurpassed cruising experience; the Mangusta 165E embodies timeless beauty with no detriment to technical functionality, and enables her guests to enjoy the sea at high speed, always in the safest conditions” explains Ivan Adzic, France Area Manager.

Both yachts are expected to be delivered next summer.
