Mangusta unveils new ‘classic car’ influenced 165 REV

The 50m (165ft) superyacht was unveiled online earlier today and is described as being heavily influenced by classic car style.

Mangusta has today unveiled the latest addition to its popular Maxi Open range, the Mangusta 165 REV.

President of Mangusta Americas, Stefano Arlunno, hosted the online event where the aggressive profile of the newest yacht in the Mangusta fleet was revealed.

The slick exteriors by Igor Lobanov are in keeping with traditional Mangusta DNA but bring an exciting new look said to be heavily influenced by classic cars and motorbikes from the 1930s, with Arlunno admitting the 50m (165ft) yacht sports an evergreen design “not conceived to be trendy”.

Inside, the design intention was to ensure a permanent connection between indoors and outdoors with floor-to-ceiling windows bathing the interiors in natural light. Fold-down platforms integrate with the profile of the main salon and create large surfaces on the sea.

The 92 square-meter (990 sq. ft) Owner’s area on the main deck was referred to by Arlunno as “more than a suite, it is a mansion”. It is spread over two large areas and offers an open layout. The lower deck can accommodate up to four guest cabins and a VIP suite. The alternative layout allows for a media room or gym in place of one of the cabins.

The new model looks set to have plenty of outdoor space for relaxing too, with the flybridge home to a Jacuzzi, lounge area and bar, an infinity pool and sunpads found at bow and a 36 square meter (387.5 sq. ft) beach club unveiled via an unfolding aft door. There is also a lateral tender garage, to store a tender of upto 6.2m (20ft).
