Esteemed shipyard Nobiskrug have launched the 80m environmentally conscious M/Y ARTEFACT. Boasting an array of eco-friendly features, the brand new addition to the fleet has already added substantial value to the brand and is set to be one to watch at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show.
After nearly two and a half years of research and development by Nobiskrug, steel cutting on the vessel began in November 2016. Then after five years of development and construction, this environmentally conscious, structurally impressive superyacht is in its final stages.
This project is a true example of the owner’s focus and his vision to build a distinctive state of the art hybrid superyacht with as many integrated environmentally-friendly features as possible.
The focus for the impressive 80m vessel is minimising the environmental impact and carbon footprint. As a result, m/y ARTEFACT is among the first yachts built to IMO Tier III emissions and regulations.
In addition to the IMO III regulations, sustainable features such as its hybrid propulsion engine system and a reusable wastewater system can also be found onboard. This hybrid propulsion system offers dynamic positioning making an anchor redundant, and thus protecting the seafloor.
The sun deck is equipped with 23 metres of solar panels, allowing motor yacht ARTEFACT to generate 6kW of auxiliary power.
Basically, we’re always conserving or redirecting energy, that’s the real advantage.
We’re not afraid of pushing the envelope, but perhaps the biggest challenge with Artefact was that she’s a very high volume yacht with a fibreglass superstructure and tremendous amount of heavy glass.
Gregory C Marshalls exterior is striking. From the unique window pattern, to the floor to ceiling central section a total of 740 square metres of the glass cover the yacht.
Aside from a central steel column, the superstructure is GRP rather than aluminium. Allowing for the elaborate shapes in the design and to balance the weight of the glass for optimal performance.
The state of the art gloss exterior and intricate window structure, designed by Gregory C Marshall, sets ARTEFACT apart from others in its size category. Currently, Reymond Langston's interior remains a mystery.
However, the initial details released reveal that she will be equipped with elevators to transport between decks, boast a luxury hair salon plus a state of the art cinema for guests. No expense has been spared as the crew are provided with a full-beam deck and a gym.
Nobiskrug have announced that they will appear at the Monaco Yacht Show 2019 with more details of this stunning 80m superyacht.
Worlds Largest Yachts
Motor yacht Artefact's length at 80m means she does not meet the length needed to be in the Top 100 of the World's Longest Yachts.
But with a Gross Tonnage of 2,999GT, motor yacht Artefact features in the new more accurate YachtBuyer YB100 Largest yachts by GT table by virtue of her large internal volume.
