In a time-honored maritime tradition, a good luck coin was welded onto the second section of the new yacht.
Heesen Yachts has marked a significant milestone with the keel laying of their latest venture, the 57-meter full custom superyacht, Project Setteesettanta, on December 14. This event, signifying the start of construction, was celebrated at their shipyard in Oss, with the owners in attendance.
The owners have enlisted Italian designer Cristiano Gatto to oversee the interior design while also acting as their advisor throughout the build process. Gatto, who has a longstanding relationship with Heesen and has collaborated on over twelve projects, will use his in-depth understanding of the shipyard's operations to guide the project. Cristiano expressed gratitude to the owners for their trust and looks forward to embarking on this pioneering venture.
Thanks to its ultra-detailed design and engineering approach, Setteesettanta will be a one-of-a-kind yacht on the water."
Project Setteesettanta is poised to be a unique presence on the water, embodying Heesen's commitment to merging aesthetics with functionality and emphasizing custom craftsmanship over standardized solutions. With a gross tonnage of 920 GT, the yacht boasts several firsts for Heesen, including a bridge on the fourth deck—a special feature for the shipyard's fleet. Despite this addition, the yacht retains Heesen's signature sleek profile, thanks in part to a discreet mast designed by Frank Laupman and the use of new flat Star Link communication panels.
Privacy is paramount for the owners, who have dedicated the entire upper deck to themselves. The deck features a master stateroom with 180-degree views and a private forward terrace that doubles as a touch-and-go helipad. The yacht also offers a VIP cabin, gym, four large guest staterooms, and a dining area connected to the aft terrace.
Notable design elements include a near-vertical bow and an open transom with a regal double staircase leading to an infinity pool. Heesen's CEO Niels Vaessen proudly stated that the construction of Project Setteesettanta is a testament to the trust placed in their shipyard by experienced owners. With aluminum construction demanding precise skills, Vaessen assures that the yacht will not only embody iconic design and luxury but will also provide a safe and pleasurable life at sea.
