Rafael Nadal takes delivery of new Sunreef 80 yacht

Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal has taken delivery of a 24m (80ft) Sunreef 80 Power yacht that he commissioned from the Polish-based shipyard last year.

Named ‘Great White’, Rafael Nadal’s new yacht arrived in the tennis pro’s Nadal’s hometown on the Spanish island of Mallorca last week.

Launched last month in Gdansk, the new 80 Sunreef Power boasts 360 square meters of living space and has been designed with long, off-shore cruising in mind.

The interiors of the catamaran have been customized for Nadal, mixing a beige, cream and coffee color palette to create a bright and stylish ambiance.

Across the yacht there is plenty of space to relax - with an expansive main deck saloon, a comfortable upper deck and a superyacht-style flybridge with its own bar and barbeque.

The Sunreef 80 Power can accommodate up to 12 guests and four crew members. All guest cabins have en-suite bathrooms, whilst Nadal’s large owner’s suite has an opening side balcony.

Other key features include stainless steel portlights, hushed ambient lighting, high bulwarks and a stern tender garage with enough space to house a tender, jet skis and other water toys.

For those interested in buying a Sunreef yacht, the yard offers a number of flexible options for the upper deck, including a waterfall-fed dip pool, upper helm position, bar area and retractable hard-top.

Rafael Nadal and Francis Lapp - founder of Sunreef Yachts

This is an unforgettable event for our shipyard to hand over the yacht to such an amazing person and athlete as Rafael Nadal. My team in GdaƄsk made every effort to create the yacht Rafa and his wife Maria dreamed of. I am convinced that they will have a great time with their friends and family on board.

Nadal has made no secret of his love of the sea, previously owning Beethoven - a Monte Carlo Yacht MCY 76. He ordered the Sunreef 80 Power yacht after enjoying a number of vacations on the water on board Sunreef charter yachts. He met with company founder Francis Lapp at the 2018 Cannes Yachting Festival.

Sunreef was founded in 2002. They launched their first yacht, 22.5m/74ft Che, a year later, breaking new ground as the first ocean-going luxury catamaran to be fitted with a flybridge.

French owned, but based in Gdansk in Poland, Sunreef has picked up a number of awards in recent years for its forward thinking approach to building multihulls.
