Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 20m beam and a 5.85m draft. The yacht has an internal volume of 9,408 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2020 with the keel laid under the project name 'Grande II/ Project Ali Baba'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in December 2023 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months.

Exterior Design

Lürssen maintained absolute secrecy throughout the construction of Dragonfly, keeping details under wraps until the yacht emerged from the German shipyard's shed. The sleek lines of its exterior styling became apparent as the raked bow first appeared through the doors. An expansive foredeck hosts the primary helipad, with a second helipad visible on the aft of the sun deck.

The curvature of the deck lines, marked by subtle angles that draw attention to the corners, introduces a dynamic element. This effect is further accentuated by a discreet upward flow that follows the angle of the supporting beam leaning forward. Within the exterior side decks on the sun deck and bridge deck, strategically placed curved extensions create balconies for guest suites or entertainment areas within the yacht.

Adding to the visual appeal, wood trim enhances the aesthetic, offering a smart and sophisticated contrast to the steel blue/grey of the superstructure and its hint of military styling.

Privacy is ensured with the use of darkened glass, while extensive glasswork floods the interior with natural light. A pool is designed into the main deck under the canopy of the upper deck, offering a shaded retreat. The beach club, facilitated by the folding transom, and the tender garage opening aft of amidships provide convenient access to tenders and water toys.

Interior Design

Due to the yacht's privacy, there are no interior photographs available in the public domain.
