Design & Construction
Designed around a full displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 14.02m beam and a 3.76m draft. The yacht is built over 4 decks with an internal volume of 1,998 GT (Gross Tonnes). The design also incorporates a heli-pad.
The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.
Exterior Design
The exterior design of Skat is characterized by its raked bow, which enhances both its visual appeal and seafaring capabilities. The hull is constructed from durable steel, ensuring longevity and strength in various maritime conditions. The deck, crafted from teak, adds a touch of functional elegance and provides a practical, non-slip surface.
Skat features a uniform grey color scheme for both its hull and superstructure, presenting a cohesive and understated look. The boot top is highlighted in blue, adding a subtle contrast to the overall design. Below the waterline, the yacht is painted black, optimizing its appearance and performance in the water.
Skat features a helipad located aft, providing easy access for guests arriving by air. The forward sun deck is equipped with a Jacuzzi, offering a place for relaxation. The aft main deck is spacious and includes fixed and loose seating, coffee tables, and buffet servers. One of the buffets has a push-button bar with bottle storage, while the port side buffet includes a sink and fridge.
The bridge deck's aft section is an open-air dining area. Here, an al fresco dining table can seat up to 12 guests, complemented by a lounging area and a U-shaped seating arrangement. Outside deck spaces are ample, including sunbeds flanking the standout Jacuzzi on the sun deck. Above the bridge deck, the gym deck houses a well-equipped workout space and a spa pool.
Interior Design
The interior design of Skat, crafted by Marco Zanini, features a disciplined and functional approach. One of the key materials used throughout the yacht is Wilsonart laminate, selected for its seaworthiness and practicality. This laminate is complemented by teak banding and counters made of gray Guanabara granite, providing a neutral backdrop that allows the owner's pop art collection to stand out.
The main salon serves a dual purpose, functioning as a cinema with a flexible seating arrangement and a large-screen television. The dining room is intimate, equipped with split teak-topped tables that can be converted into a single long table to seat up to 12 guests. Natural light floods the interior spaces through massive windows that extend full width over the main deck, enhancing the sense of openness and connection to the surroundings.
Aft of the bridge deck, the open-air dining area is light and airy, with an al fresco dining table that seats 12 guests. This area is flanked by a lounging space and a U-shaped seating area, providing ample options for relaxation and socializing. The bridge deck also includes a library on the port side and a guest office to starboard, both of which can be closed off by pocket doors for privacy or left open to flow into the informal salon and bar/games/snack area.
The gym deck above the bridge deck is equipped with a well-appointed workout space and a spa pool, catering to the fitness needs of those on board. The sculptural windows aft on the bridge deck create a conservatory-like atmosphere, featuring casual, guest-friendly spaces such as a lounge, library, and office area. The interior design is consistent and cohesive, with occasional spots of color from a few chairs accentuating the otherwise neutral palette.
