The best new yacht models to watch in 2021

Following a tough but resilient year filled with great sales success-stories, the yachting industry powers into 2021 with an exciting line-up of new yachts for sale.

As a leisure lifestyle that actually suits social distancing, it perhaps comes as no surprise that the demand for private yachts has soared during the pandemic and this is reflected in the sheer number of new models making their way onto the scene this year.

So what does 2021 have in store? From our Intelligence we can reveal there's an extensive spread of yachts due for launch, with sizesranging from 12.9m to 54m. 

Maximising space and spending time onboard have always been buyer-priorities but these assets have never been more important with yachts offering some much needed relief from the wider world. So, it comes as no surprise that SUVs and Flybridge yachts, both purveyors of good interior and deck space, feature heavily in our 2021 news model list.

Featuring activity from some of the biggest names in the industry including Sunseeker and Azimut, there's a plethora of popular names making their mark this year, so let's take a look at what's to come in 2021. 

Flybridge models remain in style

The range of flybridge yachts for sale never fails to deliver and 2021 looks to be no different.

Absolute adds some new features to its already ginormous Absolute 50 Fly Mk2. Measuring up at 15.2m (49.1ft), the refreshed model boasts twin Volvo Penta D6-IPS650 engines and a very spacious three-cabin layout for up to six guests, including what amounts to two Owner's cabins.

French builder, Prestige, is also launching a new flybridge model, the Prestige 690, the seventh model in the current Prestige flybridge range. Again showcasing three cabins, but this time for up to eight guests. Featuring a hydraulic swim platform, ideal for launching water toys, a top speed of around 30knots is promised.

Azimut will have high hopes for its new 53 Fly, sat at the heart of Owner-operated yachting. Technically, a second generation or Mark II model, this 16.78m (55ft) yacht emanates flowing lines that disguise spacious interiors and high levels of luxury. Azimut has really upped the levels on design and style in recent years and this looks another impressive example of boat-building prowess, but there is plenty to get excited about with many Azimut flybridge yacht for sale.

Also gracing the scene from Italian shores, Cranchi is preparing to launch the captivating Cranchi Sessantasette. Following in the footsteps of the previous Settantotto flybridge, the new sister ship looks to encompass wrap-around glazing for unspoiled views and a sheltered helm station for even more iconic viewpoints. Many details are yet to be revealed, but if the Settantotto is anything to go by, she is definitely one to watch.

Now for a flybridge from US waters, American shipyard Viking are scheduled to launch the Viking 82MY. Also known as the 82 Convertible, the 25.43m (83.4ft) model joins the Viking Motoryacht range alongside the 75 and 93 models. Building on the yard's previous success for sportfishing yachts, the 82 Convertible also integrates functions for the popular sport with insulated fiberglass bait wells, strut supports and a spacious transom.

Increased demand for SUVs and trawlers

Maxing-out on interior volume, SUVs and modern trawler designs are ideal liveaboard cruising options, and their popularity with buyers is leading to more new models come to market.

Starting off with the smallest of the Numarine Explorer range, the 22m (72.2ft) Numarine 22XP is another exciting addition to what is a very progressive SUV line-up. Hosting a four-cabin layout for up to eight guests, the modular design and extensive glazing promote oneness with the surroundings with ample storage for a tender and Jet Ski.

Going up a notch, Arcadia is to launch an updated version of the 23.98m (78.67ft) Sherpa XL. Building on the success of the previous Sherpa model, the latest Arcadia Sherpa yacht for sale showcases exterior designs by Hot Lab. Highlights include a notable 22sqm master suite, an extensive sun lounge plus a spacious 65sqm multifunctional stern for entertaining and day-long adventures on the waves.

As we have already said, Italian shipyard Azimut is impressing on so many fronts, from carbon sports to explorers, and will launch no less than three newmodels from its more classically-toned Magellano trawler collection.

Starting off with the 20.15m (66ft) Magellano 66, the model is described as 'exceptionally roomy' for its size and hosts a four-cabin layout for eight guests. Taking on the traditional scope on trawler yachts, Azimut have breathed new life into the much-loved yacht and made her ideal for either Owner or crew operation. Flooded by natural daylight both on the main and lower deck, the new Magellano 66 yacht for sale is a must-have for 2021.  

Going up in size to 25m (82ft), the Magellano 25 Metri is designed by Vincenzo De Cotiis and features a range of innovative solutions that enhance the longevity and concept of space throughout the Italian model. Already an award-winner at the World Yachts Trophies for Most Innovative Yacht (24-30m), the Azimut Magellano 25 Metri houses a separate tender garage to make the most of on-deck space plus clever use of windows to emphasize space further with abundant natural light.

Merging the borders between trawler and SUV yachts, the new Magellano 30 Metri yacht for sale is definitely one to be reckoned with. Larger than the other models at 29.63m (97.2ft), this model looks to make an appearance at the latter end of 2021. But first impressions of striking lines, spacious exteriors and wide stretches of windows, the Azimut Magellano 30 Metri shows nothing less than a highly anticipated launch when she does arrive.

Also coming on to the scene for 2021, new German shipyard Alva Yachts is scheduled to launch its first monohull, which also happens to be emission-free thanks to the option of adding a hydrogen fuel cell.

The 15.2m (50ft) Eco Cruise 50 draws inspiration from trawler yachts and with all optional extras, she can reach ranges of up to 2,500 nautical miles, making her an ideal pocket explorer for visiting archipelagos.  

Integrated with solar panels and electric motors, the Eco Cruise 50 is a minimalist yacht that shows great potential from the new shipyard.

Sunseeker lead the way for sporty offerings

At first glance, there seems to be very little in the way of new sports yachts for 2021, with the one exception being the Sunseeker 65 Sport Yacht.

As part of Sunseeker's lineup of five new models to be launched in January 2021, Sunseeker's 65 Sport Yacht is sleek and super stylish, to say the least. 

Incorporating a full tender garage with a hydraulic launchpad/ swim platform, the new sports yacht for sale stands at 20.46m (67.2ft) and advocates a maximum speed of 35 knots.

Joining the pre-existing 74 Sport Yacht, the latest addition to the Sport Yacht range will be the smallest model on offer but accommodates up to six guests in a three-cabin layout, with multiple configurations and layout options to make the yacht your own.

In addition to the latest Sport Yacht model, Sunseeker also has some fleet updates rolling out in the form of the Predator 74 XPS and 74 Sport Yacht XPS.

Building on the previous success of both models, the XPS package boosts specifications for both models with maximum speeds now reaching 40 knots. External customization is also enabled with Owners able to choose dark grey hulls and silver superstructures. 

Presenting yet more models for 2021, Sunseeker also look to launch the 88 Yacht, 90 Ocean and Manhattan 55.
