Dutch shipyard Feadship has officially launched motor yacht BOARDWALK, formerly known as Project 707, in Aalsmeer. The event happened on the very same day Project 708 hit the water at the manufacturer’s Scheepswerf Slob facility.
A custom-built superyacht, motor yacht BOARDWALK was commissioned by an experienced yacht Owner. Construction initially began at Scheepswerf Slob, before the yacht moved to Aalsmeer to undergo outfitting in December 2019.
The sleek exterior was designed by De Voogt Naval Architects, with her launch revealing her sharp lines and profile. Her displacement hull is made of steel, while the superstructure uses lightweight aluminium.
Superyacht BOARDWALK will undergo sea trials in the coming weeks and delivery is expected next year. According to our market intelligence, she marks one of five yachts on course for delivery next year.
Worlds Largest Yachts
Her launch comes in the final quarter of a good year for Feadship, with the deliveries of motor yacht PODIUM, motor yacht ARROW and motor yacht MOONRISE already this year.
Alongside BOARDWALK and Project 708, construction is well underway on 118m Project 1010. Set to become the largest yacht ever built in the Netherlands, it will join the upper ranks of the World’s Longest Yachts. Recently, the yacht's hull was spotted being transported to Makkum by tug and, with a Gross Tonnage of 5,500GT, will feature in the new more accurate YachtBuyer YB100 Largest yachts by GT table by virtue of her large internal volume.
