Oceanco Yachts Fleet
Oceanco might be a relative newcomer by Dutch yacht-building standards, but it has made a big impact on the size and style of the superyacht fleet since it began in 1987.
It is tempting to divide the Oceanco fleet into two groups, those yachts that came before the 82m (269ft) modern classic, Alfa Nero, delivered in 2007, and those that followed. It is not so much about size, there were a good few 80-90m yachts built in Oceanco's early years, it is more to do with design prowess. Alfa Nero and the yachts that followed delivered a new and very confident style of superyacht, full of curves, capability and stature.
Names like Sunrays, Man of Steel (ex Seven Seas), Nirvana and Tranquility, all around 85-90m, stand out as benchmark moments, yachts that look as good today as when they were built and are quite possibly revered even more.
These next-generation vessels paved the way for the more ambitious, progressively styled builds we have seen more recently, with the 109-metre Bravo Eugenia and 90m DAR standing out as spectacular examples.
