  • Unique walkways to the flybridge
  • Full-beam owner's suite with walk-in closet
  • Separate, large galley with quality appliances

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 5.94m beam and a 1.83m draft. The yacht is built over 2 decks with an internal volume of 84 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Exterior Design

Featuring a clipper bow, Captivator presents an efficient and classic profile, conducive to smooth sailing and enhanced performance in various sea conditions. The hull and superstructure are crafted from high-grade aluminum, ensuring durability and a lighter weight, which contributes to better fuel efficiency and speed.

The deck of the Captivator is laid with teak, a material chosen for its hard-wearing properties and natural resistance to the elements, maintaining its integrity and appearance over time. In terms of color scheme, Captivator boasts a pristine white hull and superstructure, accented with a black boot top and matching black below the waterline. The hull finish is treated with Awlgrip, a high-performance coating that offers additional protection against the harsh marine environment.

The exterior design of Captivator includes an escape hatch or a vent hatch for the crew quarters, positioned conveniently for access and ventilation. The windlass, situated at the front with foot remote switches, compliments the anchor setup, demonstrating practical design elements tailored for ease of use.

The walkways leading up to the flybridge, emerging from the bulwarks, offer an unconventional route to the upper deck, enhancing the yacht's beam and providing additional space in the salon area. The inclusion of sliding doors to the pilot house, one on the starboard side and one on the port, introduces a level of accessibility and convenience for maneuvering throughout the yacht. The flybridge itself is equipped with essential navigation tools and offers ample space for relaxation and entertainment, underscored by the addition of an ice maker and sink, alongside storage solutions integrated into the seating.

The yacht's capability for extensive travel and maintenance history is reflected in its design, with a foldable part of the mast allowing for navigation in areas requiring significant bridge clearance.

Interior Design

The galley of Captivator stands out due to its separation from the main salon, a design choice that caters to both privacy and functionality. It boasts ample storage solutions, including deep drawers beneath the bench and additional compartments beneath the dinette. Equipment includes a Sub-Zero refrigerator, alongside a four-burner induction Wolf cooktop and an oven of the same brand. A dishwasher and a trash compactor further enhance the galley’s utility. The separate dinette area provides a space for informal meals.

The helm features dual chart plotters, including an upgraded Garmin unit, alongside necessary navigation and communication tools such as autopilot, VHF radio, and engine monitors for the twin Caterpillar engines. The helm is equipped with both manual and automated controls for the bilge pumps and a hydraulic bow thruster. The space is also marked by its efficient use of space, with ample storage for essential tools and documents, and a captain's chair that anchors the area as a command center.

The salon is accessible via a comfortable and wide staircase, leading to a space that balances communal areas with private nooks. The design favors natural materials, with wood finishes that add warmth and texture. Furniture is arranged to encourage conversation while allowing for easy movement throughout the space. Large windows ensure ample natural light and provide unobstructed views of the surroundings.

Accommodation

Captivator features two double cabins, each equipped with a pullman berth, allowing for a total of six guests. These cabins are symmetrically placed, one on the port side and one on the starboard side of the yacht. The inclusion of pullman berths enhances the flexibility of the sleeping arrangements, making it an ideal setup for families with children or additional guests. Each cabin is thoughtfully designed with ample storage space, ensuring guests can stow their belongings comfortably. En suite facilities are available, offering convenience and privacy.

The full-beam owner suite offers an expansive and serene space for the owner. It features a large, comfortable bed, flanked by nightstands and additional seating areas. Storage is aplenty, with a walk-in closet providing ample space for personal items, alongside additional drawers and cabinets throughout the suite. The owner suite's en suite bathroom is spacious, featuring a two-person shower and generous storage options.

The crew area is designed to accommodate a couple comfortably, with a full-size bed and an additional separate bunk. The space is equipped with necessary amenities, including storage options and a separate head with a shower. A Garmin repeater is also installed for the crew's convenience, ensuring they are well-informed and able to perform their duties efficiently.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (C18) 1,150hp engines, motor yacht Captivator is capable of reaching a top speed of 20 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
