Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 33'6" beam and a 7'10" draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 749 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2005. Launched in November 2010 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in February 2011.

Exterior Design

Carpe Diem's exterior design sets her apart from traditional Trinity Yachts builds. Her straight lines and flat sheer create smooth, leading lines that offer a sleek, almost stealthy appearance. The white superstructure sits atop an off-white, semi-displacement hull, giving her a distinct and modern look. Vertical pilothouse windows, gleaming stainless stanchions, and teak-capped rails add a touch of what can be described as 'northern European' details.

The sun deck is a highlight, featuring a 12-person spa pool flanked by broad sunpads and deep settees. The use of vibrant materials such as crocodile leathers, grey velvets, and bold flashes of orchid purple against neutral tones creates a striking visual experience. The exterior seating is designed for comfort and style, with gracious, chaise-like arrangements.

On the aft main deck, loose leather furnishings with reflective metallic pillows and charcoal accents create a saloon ambiance. The marble-topped, tufted leather bar and macassar side tables enhance the overall aesthetic. Custom furniture pieces, including vintage Probber chairs and marine-grade stainless steel and waterproofed leather finishes, contribute to the yacht's refined look.

Unique white caulking on the teak decking contrasts beautifully with the dark furniture, while the exterior seating on the bridge deck and sun deck prioritizes guest comfort. The design and materials used in Carpe Diem's exterior spaces reflect a blend of functionality and visual appeal, making her a standout yacht in her class.

Interior Design

The main saloon features a combination of warm platinum, silvery greys, and creams, accentuated by dark macassar and ebonised cherry wall panels. The saloon bar is topped with crystal onyx, and the space is filled with varied and sophisticated lighting and furniture shapes, conveying a modern feel with undertones of European Deco.

The furnishings in the main saloon include custom free-standing and built-in pieces, many of which are vintage items refinished for marine use. For example, vintage Probber chairs have been upgraded with marine-grade stainless steel and waterproofed leather. The Belgian Art Deco black lacquer table in the aft entrance and oversized chairs from Paris re-covered in silk velvet further add to the unique character of the space.

A grand, full-beam foyer forward of the dining room doubles as a gallery space, displaying a series of Marilyn Monroe photographs by Milton Greene and mirrors that create a sensation of infinity. This foyer is also designed to house the yacht's china and serving ware, allowing the crew to attend to guests with ease.

The upper saloon offers expansive water views, featuring macassar wall panels and creamy textural fabrics. This area is designed to be light and open, with clean furniture lines and an emphasis on creating a comfortable environment for socializing and relaxation.

The large galley is fitted with statuary marble and high-standard equipment, thoughtfully designed for charter service. It includes walk-in refrigerators and freezers, a food lift, and an interior stairway between the galley and the service pantry on the deck above. The owner’s preference for taking morning coffee with the crew is accommodated with a designated seating area within the galley.

Accommodation

Carpe Diem offers comfortable and spacious accommodation for up to 12 guests. The main-deck master suite utilizes the yacht’s 10-meter beam to full advantage. The bed is positioned athwartship on the port side, allowing for a designated lounging area to starboard. The suite also includes separate his-and-hers en suites, each adorned with striking onyx variations.

Below decks, Carpe Diem features four large cabins, each fitted with king-size beds and en suite marble-clad bathrooms. Additionally, there is a versatile fifth cabin that can function as a twin with a Pullman berth or be converted into a sitting area to form a VIP suite when joined with the adjacent cabin.

Crew accommodation is designed to ensure efficient and discreet service. The yacht’s layout allows the crew to move about easily, and the large galley is well-equipped for charter service, including a seating area for the owner to enjoy morning coffee with the crew. A food lift and an interior stairway between the galley and the service pantry enable quick and unseen access between decks.

Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3516B) 16-cylinder 3,384hp engines running at 1800rpm, motor yacht Carpe Diem is capable of reaching a top speed of 21 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots.
