Delivered in 1986, Sea Axis is a 38.1m motor yacht built by Dutch shipyard Heesen. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Mulder Design, while Art Line is responsible for her interior design.

Key Features

  • Full beam master stateroom
  • Integrated bar for socializing
  • Jacuzzi with cushioned sun pads
  • Contemporary saloon with plush leather sofas

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 7.6m beam and a 2.45m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 277 GT (Gross Tonnes).

She was delivered to her owners in October 1986.

Exterior Design

Sea Axis features a raked bow, enhancing its aerodynamic profile and aiding in smoother navigation through the water. The deck is constructed from durable teak, known for its resilience and classic appearance. The hull and superstructure are painted a clean, crisp white, providing a sharp contrast to the black boot top and below-the-waterline colors. This color scheme not only enhances its visual appeal but also contributes to the yacht's sleek and professional look.

The sundeck on Sea Axis is designed with functionality and comfort in mind. It features an easy-flowing layout that balances areas of sun and shade. The teak sole adds to the deck's durability and aesthetic. Forward banquette seating and a centrally placed raised observation bench allow for versatile use, providing both fore and aft viewing positions.

A U-shaped bar, fully equipped to serve six guests, is sheltered under a shaded area, making it a convenient spot for socializing. The large Jacuzzi, surrounded by thickly cushioned sun pads, offers added comfort for relaxation.

Interior Design

The interior design of Sea Axis offers a blend of comfort and style. The saloon features three large, white leather sofas and a white marble rectangular coffee table. The neutral-toned ceilings and flooring complement the dark-toned wooden walls, creating a welcoming ambiance. A bar is conveniently located near the lounging area, allowing guests to socialize and enjoy drinks.

Adjacent to the lounging area is the dining space, which includes a large wooden table that can seat ten people. This setup allows for easy movement between relaxation and dining, enhancing the functionality of the room.

The walkway leading to the central stairway, with its uncarpeted birch ply floors, maintains the same practical and visually interesting design. The parrot's cage, a distinctive feature near the bar area, typically houses a real bird but occasionally holds a cloth imposter, adding a touch of whimsy to the otherwise functional interior.

Accommodation

Sea Axis can accommodate a total of ten guests. The guest quarters include a master suite and four additional staterooms, each thoughtfully designed with both comfort and utility in mind.

Situated forward of the galley on the main deck, the master suite is expansive, featuring a spacious bedroom, a separate dressing room, and a large bathroom. The bathroom is equipped with a double-sized Jacuzzi tub, a shower, sauna, and washbasins, providing a private retreat for the owner.

Access to the guest staterooms is through an impressive central atrium, with stairs that wind down to the lower deck. Here, three staterooms, including two double-bedded rooms and one twin-bedded room, are located. Each of these staterooms comes with both a shower and Jacuzzi. An additional twin-bedded stateroom is located in the aft part of the yacht, accessible directly from the main saloon.

Sea Axis provides well-appointed quarters for a crew of up to eight members. Located on the lower deck in the forward part of the yacht, the crew quarters include two twin cabins and a single cabin, with an independent dinette and galley area. The captain’s quarters are situated behind the pilothouse on the bridge deck, ensuring close proximity to the yacht’s operational hub.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel Deutz (TBD616 V16) 16-cylinder 1,250hp engines, motor yacht Sea Axis is capable of reaching a top speed of 17 knots, and comfortably cruises at 12 knots. With her 30,800 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,000 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort, while underwater lights create a dazzling light display when the sun goes down. Crowning the yacht is a spacious sundeck with an inviting spread of sunpads and deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
