Design & Construction

Designed around a planing aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.8m beam and a 2.8m draft. The yacht is built over 6 decks with an internal volume of 498 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in late 2020. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in February 2024 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2024.

Exterior Design

The yacht Special One has a design that merges the classic features of an American sportfish boat with the scale of a luxury superyacht. This vessel is distinguished by its pronounced long, generously flared bow and high bulwarks that gracefully extend to a streamlined fishing cockpit at the stern. The design incorporates six decks, offering ample space and facilities for guests and crew alike.

Special One is constructed with an Alustar® aluminum hull and superstructure, ensuring durability and a lighter weight that enhances her performance and efficiency at sea.

One of the most notable features of Special One is its high tower, which serves a dual purpose. Functionally, it provides an elevated vantage point for fishing, allowing for a better angle of view onto the water. Aesthetically, it doubles as an exceptional viewing platform for guests, enabling them to observe the fishing activity below or simply enjoy the panoramic views.

The yacht's deck spaces are thoughtfully organized. The mezzanine deck offers shaded seating areas that provide optimal views, either aft towards the fishing action or forward to the main alfresco dining area. This configuration allows for comfortable observation and relaxation. Twin curved stairways link the mezzanine to the large cockpit, which is fitted with specialized equipment such as tuna tubes, outriggers, floodlights, and saltwater ice chip machines.

A highlight of the exterior is the unique cinema on the foredeck. The tender garage roof opens to reveal a large screen, while a permanent projector compartment ensures reliable viewing. Custom carbon fiber poles with integrated lighting create a sheltered space, allowing for a private cinema experience under the stars.

The yacht's exterior lighting system is another noteworthy feature. Developed in collaboration with Fibr8.com, this system uses laser-powered fibers to create intricate 3D line effects. This technology provides consistent illumination without the gaps that LEDs might present, ensuring reliability and durability.

Special One combines classic sportfish features with luxury yacht amenities, featuring a high fishing tower and advanced laser lighting, and boasts a top speed of 35 knots.

Interior Design

The interior design of Special One features walnut joinery, exotic stonework, and bespoke furnishings, creating a clean and masculine style focused on family comfort. The open-plan main salon is designed to be inviting and relaxed, with walnut wood veneers, white furnishings, and simple window treatments. Italian marble and warm indirect lighting offer a calming environment.

The joinery veneer is mostly sourced from a single walnut tree, paired with stained oak cupboards and ash flooring. Leather door tabs with stitched detailing provide a modern touch while maintaining a lightweight profile. Leather is used extensively on walls and furniture frames, which softens the interior look and dampens sound. Custom furniture frames also serve as subtle handholds. Primary social spaces feature ash floors with unique patterns for visual interest, such as the oval floor in the formal dining area, which is a parquet containing 237 pieces of ash and wenge inlays.

A prominent feature of the main salon is the glass cylinder enclosing a three-person vacuum elevator, linking the main, upper, and bridge decks. This elevator is a space-efficient and lightweight solution, requiring no hydraulics pit. A floating spiral staircase, crafted from dark and light wood, wraps around the elevator.

The salon's color scheme is neutral, with off-white sofas and armchairs in a contemporary style. These are arranged in two L-shaped seating areas, complemented by teal accents and dark walnut cabinetry. White-painted window mullions feature decorative oak strip inlays. The overhead is composed of white leather and gloss-painted strips for added interest. Ambient lighting is integrated into the toe kicks of the walls and custom furniture. This multi-use room includes an oval dining table with seating for eight under a modern, low-profile chandelier. Large windows on either side invite guests to look out, while the aft glass bulkhead leads to the mezzanine deck.

The sky lounge on the upper deck is designed for entertainment, featuring a backlit bar with three fixed stools. A bespoke blue glass chandelier and a glassware display cabinet highlight a bronze art piece, creating a focal point for the space.

Accommodation

Special One accommodates 10 guests in five staterooms, offering a variety of options for sleeping arrangements. Among these, the owner's suite is located forward on the main deck, offering panoramic windows that provide impressive views across the bow. The suite features a bathroom wrapped in rare, book-matched Panda marble with heated floors, and the indirect lighting and air conditioning vents are seamlessly integrated into the ceiling design. The suite also includes a desk, settee, and cupboards, which are carefully placed to maintain a spacious and uncluttered atmosphere.

Guest accommodations include a double cabin, two twin cabins, and a forward VIP cabin, all located on the lower deck. These ensuite guest cabins are finished to high standards, with walnut joinery and large windows that offer natural light and views, which is distinctive for sportfishing yachts. Each cabin maintains a consistent level of luxury, differing only in color schemes.

Crew accommodation for up to nine has the quarters divided to ensure balance and proper trim for speed. Two cabins are located forward of the engine room, close to the crew mess and a spacious galley, while three are situated aft of the engine room. The aft cabins are accessible from the lazarette or engine room, with a connection to the forward crew areas that have direct access to the main deck pantry.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MAN (20V 175D-ML) 5,982hp engines, motor yacht Special One is capable of reaching a top speed of 30 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. Her planing hull design means she is fast and efficient as she slices through the water.
