Delivered in 2009, Wheels is a 50m motor yacht built by American shipyard Trinity Yachts. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Trinity Yachts, while Scott Carpenter is responsible for her interior design.
Design & Construction
Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.5m beam and a 2.4m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 456 GT (Gross Tonnes).
Construction started in mid 2006. Launched in October 2008 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in June 2009.
Accommodation
Wheels offers accommodation for up to 12 guests in 6 suites comprising an owners cabin, 4 double cabins and 1 twin cabin. She is also capable of carrying up to 9 crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.
Performance & Capabilities
Powered by twin diesel Caterpillar (3512 B) 12-cylinder 2,250hp engines running at 1925rpm, motor yacht Wheels is capable of reaching a top speed of 19 knots, and comfortably cruises at 17 knots. With her 60,560 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10 knots. She has been fitted with stabilizers to increase on-board comfort when the yacht is at anchor, particularly in rough waters. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
Amenities
The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Wheels also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
