Damen' Xplorer 80 Presented at Palm Beach International Boat Show 2024

The new 80-meter yacht concept marks the latest addition to Damen’s expedition yacht line, previously known as SeaXplorer.

At the Palm Beach International Boat Show, Damen Yachting unveiled its latest 80-meter yacht concept, the Xplorer 80, expanding its line of expedition yachts, formerly known as SeaXplorer.

Collaborating with Azure Yacht Design, the 2,900 GT Xplorer 80 retains signature SeaXplorer exterior features like the open bow, observation lounge, and enclosed wheelhouse. Meanwhile, London-based design studio Harrison Eidsgaard has crafted a "Manhattan loft-inspired" interior.

We wanted to make the original SeaXplorer branding more relevant for today’s and tomorrow’s luxury yet adventurous yachting needs. Whilst the DNA within the Xplorer 80 proudly carries all of the original SeaXplorer key attributes, we wanted to update the way the brand was presented to better reflect the forward-thinking nature of this new 80-meter Xplorer."

The yacht can accommodate 12 guests across six cabins, with space for 26 crew members and the captain. An array of interior and exterior configuration options are available, enabling buyers to tailor the Xplorer 80 to their preferences.

Options include an operational gym and wellness setup, a twin tender garage arrangement for water toy storage, and a spacious, fully-equipped dive center for diving enthusiasts. Depending on their needs and preferences, owners can also choose between a hidden heli hangar or a wall-to-wall lounge club.

Espen Øino and Harrison Eidsgaard have crafted two distinct exterior designs for the yacht, emphasizing a connection with nature. From the bridge wing doubling as a viewing room to the lofty 30m-high crows nest and the signature open bow, every corner invites passengers to immerse themselves in the surrounding environment.

Partnering with Winch Design and Reymond Langton for the interior concepts, the focus has been on creating a cozy and comfortable "four-season feeling." With up to 40 days of self-autonomy at sea, the interiors aim to provide a strong "home-from-home" ambiance, accommodating extended stays with the whole family.

The result is that the Xplorer 80 absolutely embodies the brand values associated with the Xplorer range bringing extensive capability, unrivaled autonomy, and above all luxury space and lifestyle to the most extreme corners of the globe.”
