Wally has announced the first hull of its pioneering new wallywhy200 line is set to be launched imminently.
The new 27.05m (88.7ft) motor yacht is the first by the Italian yard to feature an enclosed bridge and, according to the builder, it combines the “comfort and space of a larger displacement yacht with the speed and performance of a semi-displacement”.
It features a cohesive design, with the enclosed bridge encompassing the wheelhouse and sky lounge, with the 37sq/m (398sq/ft) owner’s suite at the bow enjoying 270-degree views across the sea.
Stefano de Vivo, Wally Managing Director, explains more about the impressive space the wallywhy200 offers: "With its widebody design, this 200 GT yacht offers far larger volumes compared to traditional motorboats, plus a living space and stability that are greater than any competitors. It essentially provides all the advantages of a catamaran but has none of the limitations, namely the lack of volume linked to the main central hull and mooring problems.”

Other highlights include a large beach club that benefits from folding bulwarks that allow access to the sea on three sides and expand the area to 32sq/m; two tender garages capable of accommodating a 4.05m jet tender, wave runner, sea bob, paddleboard, and all manner of water toys and over 200sq/m of indoor living space.
The first unit, which Wally has said will launch in the first half of July, features a four-cabin layout, a one-piece laminated carbon staircase to connect all three decks, and a state-of-the-art 55-inch TV and sophisticated sound system. It is also powered by four Volvo Penta D-13 IPS 1350 engines at 1000 hp each to give a cruising speed of 23 knots.
The wallywhy200 is set to get its official debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September.
Wally has been designing and building yachts since its formation in 1994. The wallywhy200 is its own take on the ‘superfly’ yacht concept, which was introduced to the world of superyachts in mid-2018 when British shipyard Princess unveiled the X95, with Ferretti then following suit with the Ferretti 1000. In common with ‘superfly’ style yachts the wallywhy200 has a longer, wider, and taller superstructure and a sleek bridge deck.
