Constructed by the U.S. shipyard Westport Yachts, the first hull of the new Westport 117 series, named PRICELESS, has commenced its sea trials. This phase comes ahead of its scheduled delivery in December.
The Westport 117 offers an entry-level model that incorporates decades of engineering know-how gained from the highly successful Westport 112, of which 68 hulls were delivered.
Heralded as the replacement to the W112, the new W117 allowed Westport Yachts to innovate while adhering to modern regulatory requirements that focus on reducing emissions. This led to a redesign, resulting in the Westport 117 boasting extra length and a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system to align with today's stringent environmental standards.
The raised-pilothouse design of the Westport W117 offers alfresco areas that span two levels on the flybridge. Here, guests can dine, socialize, or soak in the panoramic views from an elevated observation settee. The bridge's upper level is a hub of activity, where guests can interact with the captain at the helm or the chef at the barbecue. Meanwhile, the aft section features a hot tub and space for sun loungers.
One of the standout features of the Westport W117 motor yacht is its semi-customizable nature — Westport allows buyers to tailor the interior arrangement, and even relocate non-structural bulkheads. This customization extends to the main-deck master suite. Below decks, the layout includes four guest staterooms, with one doubling up as a gym or whatever the owner prefers, enhancing the yacht's adaptability.
The W117 maintains a Bahamas-friendly draft of 1.93m (6ft), ensuring ease of navigation in shallow waters. The yacht's design also includes well-proportioned crew quarters for four, plus the captain, complete with a crew mess.
The new yacht for sale is equipped with a pair of Caterpillar C-32 ACERT engines delivering 1,900hp at 2,300rpm, enabling a top speed of approximately 24 knots, with a cruising speed of around 20 knots. A 60hp bow thruster is also fitted for precise maneuverability in harbors and marinas.
Following delivery to its new owners in December, the Westport 117 will make its debut at the Palm Beach International Boat Show in March, 2025.
