Monaco Yacht Show 2024: YachtBuyer’s In-Show Statistics

Due to several last-minute changes to the yachts on display, most published reports are outdated, making YachtBuyer’s statistics the most accurate on the show's opening day.

With a lineup of 117 superyachts attending the 2024 Monaco Yacht Show, including some of the world's biggest yachts, the show is now underway at the iconic Port Hercule. 

Of the 170 superyachts in Monaco this week, 117 will be 'in the show' with a further 53 yachts at anchor in the Bay of Monaco.

With the combined total length of superyachts in-show totaling over 5.64km, show visitors can look forward to viewing yachts with an average length of 48.2m (158ft), reflecting the growing trend toward larger, more luxurious superyachts. Most superyachts showcased are five years old and feature the latest technologies and designs.

As visitors have come to expect, the MYS 2024 fleet is dominated by motor yachts, making up 93% of what's in-show. This includes 108 motor yachts, eight sailing yachts, and one motor/sailer yacht. Of these, 15 yachts have undergone substantial refits, while 55 are brand new: 42 yachts from 2024 and 13 from 2023.

Yacht Debuts:

Among the highlights is the Monaco Yacht Show debut of 81 yachts, underscoring not only the industry’s continual evolution, but the show's prominence in the yachting calendar. 

The most significant debut is Lurssen's 123m (404ft) megayacht GOLDEN ODYSSEY, marking the largest and longest yacht ever in the Monaco Yacht Show. To secure a last-minute berth, the yacht GOLDEN ODYSSEY has taken the place of the 105m (345ft) Oceanco superyacht H3, which is no longer attending the show.

The show will feature 67 yachts for sale, with a combined value of $2 billion. These yachts are projected to have an average price of $30.5 million and an average length of 49.79m (163ft). The average age of these yachts is 7 and a half years.

BOLD

Designed by SilverYachts, the 85m (280ft) explorer yacht BOLD has a semi-displacement aluminum hull and superstructure. Launched and delivered in 2019, it was the first yacht built on the Silver Loft design by Espen Øino, with an internal volume of 1,551 GT and a helipad.

Yacht BOLD's exterior combines utilitarian style with performance, featuring a deck for a helicopter and a 15m yacht tender, sun pads, a spa pool, a fire pit, and a winter garden with retractable glass walls. Amenities include a gym, library, and deck jacuzzi. The luxurious interior accommodates up to 16 guests in eight cabins, including a spacious owner's suite, and a crew of 21.

Powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines, motor yacht BOLD reaches a top speed of 23 knots and a range of 4,500nm at 14 knots, with advanced stabilizers and a comprehensive monitoring system for optimal performance.

ENERGY

The 78m (255ft) superyacht ENERGY from Amels features a steel displacement hull and aluminum superstructure. Built over four decks with a 2,885 GT internal volume, it was launched in December 2019 under the name Project 77.

ENERGY's exterior boasts a raked bow, extensive teak decks, a small pool, sun pads, and flexible seating. The bridge and sun decks include additional seating and space for helicopter landings, while the upper deck aft features a large pool with tenders stowed below. The interior includes a music lounge with a Steinway piano, a boardroom-style office, a martial arts room, and a formal dining room. Accommodating up to 14 guests in seven cabins, including an owner's suite with a private terrace and jacuzzi, the yacht also provides quarters for 27 crew members.

Powered by twin MTU 3,046hp engines, ENERGY reaches 17 knots top speed and cruises at 13 knots with a 5,000nm range.

PLANET NINE

Built by Admiral Yachts, the 73m (240ft) superyacht PLANET NINE features a full displacement ice-class steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, spread over five decks with an internal volume of 2,100 GT and a helipad.

Designed by Tim Heywood, PLANET NINE's explorer capabilities are highlighted by a high bow and broad aft helipad, supporting an AgustaWestland AW109 Grand helicopter. Its ice-class certification allows navigation through ice up to 15cm thick. Interior design by Tino Zervudachi includes various lounges, a surround-sound cinema, and a mix of materials like American elm and hand-woven abaca. The yacht offers a gym, luxury spa, cinema suite, and beach club, accommodating up to 16 guests in seven cabins, including an extensive owner's suite.

Powered by twin Caterpillar engines, PLANET NINE reaches a top speed of 16 knots and cruises at 14 knots with a range of 6,000nm.

Yachts for Charter:

For those interested in chartering, 49 yachts are available, with an average length of 54.45m (179ft). The average charter crew size is 12.86, while the largest crew size of a charter yacht at the show is 44.

Motor yachts also dominate the MYS charter market, comprising 96% of the charter fleet. This includes 47 motor yachts and two sail yachts. The total charter price is expected to be $27,319,114.65, with an average charter costing $487,841.33. The highest charter price is anticipated to be $3,734,289.31, reflecting the premium experiences available.
