Riva releases images of smallest fly model Argo 90

Ferretti Group brand Riva has released new images for its new 28m Argo 90 superyacht.

Labelled as small but perfectly formed, the Argo 90 is the smallest addition to the new generation Riva flybridge range.

Featuring extensive design work from Officina Italiana Design, the new Argo 90 boasts some similarities to previous models released by Riva, including the large glass panel with an asymmetric design inserted into its hardtop.

The glass feature has already been featured on the Riva Dolcevita model and thanks to its large coverage capability it is considered one of the key assets of the build.

The 90 came after the experience of the 100 [Corsaro] and 110 [Dolcevita]. It was a good thing on this project because all the positive feedback and features that we found for the two previous models we could express on this one. This experience was very helpful for us.

With the name Argo being inspired by the Greek legend of the Argonauts, the strong design of the Argo 90 is striking and attractive to the eye although it had some tricky engineering features.

The 'glass palace' at the aft of the craft provides an exceptional infinity viewpoint for guests to make the most of virtually undisturbed views. With the aft area almost completely constructed with glass with no supporting beams to obstruct the views, this area is elegant and abundantly lit with natural light. With the lounge area covering around 40 square metres, it is an ideal location for entertaining guests.

In addition to the stunning glass haven, the main salon offers a big open space with a formal dining option and plush seating for all guests on board. Directly out of the main salon doors is a fully equipped bar for cocktails under the stars.

Good design must be long-lasting, and it is a sign of respect for our work but also for the customers. They don’t deserve a boat that is out of fashion in two years. That’s why we are classical, though with a contemporary touch because you cannot live in the past.

Interior furnishings and finishing touches all conform to the traditional Riva design portfolio with extensive use of wood, leather and stainless steel. Dark lacquer has been used on the ceilings with English walnut on bulkheads to providing a welcoming and comforting dark environment.

Overnight accommodation for the Argo 90 essentially features two master cabins with one 30 square metre cabin on the main deck and another comparable cabin in the amidships on the lower deck. Designed to offer owners a choice of sleeping arrangements, the cabins are elegantly finished to a high standard with another two ensuite cabins also located on the lower deck.

Largely inspired by the automotive industry, the Argo 90 has a capability of reaching 30 knots when using the larger engine option of MTU 16V 2000 M96 units.
