Design & Construction

Designed around a full displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 10.5m beam and a 3.1m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 835 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in mid 2019 with the keel laid under the project name '13800'. The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards. Launched in April 2021 this yacht undertook sea trials over the following months. She was delivered to her owners in November 2021.

Exterior Design

Taking inspiration from the classic lines of the iconic Carinthia VI, the 55.5-metre Moon Sand features a silhouette that harmoniously blends tradition with modernity.

Crafted with a keen eye for elegance, Moon Sand's exterior lines are a direct nod to the work of the legendary Jon Bannenberg. These lines, reinterpreted by his son at Bannenberg & Rowell Design, pay homage to the legacy of the 71-metre yacht launched in 1973, now known as The One. The result is a yacht that feels timeless yet distinctly contemporary, showcasing a sleek profile with sharp, straight lines that stretch from bow to stern.

The Moon Sand's superstructure is sculpted with curves, which reveal their full beauty upon closer inspection. These design elements allow for unobstructed views and a flood of natural light through the expansive windowpanes. Remarkably, the upper deck lounge features some of the largest glass installations Lürssen had ever fitted when she launched, achieved without the installation of mullions.

The aft deck features a pool with a rise and fall floor system and a counter-current system. The pool area is accentuated with spa jets and lighting, and there's also a jacuzzi and sunbed setup on the aft sundeck.

Moon Sand offers various outdoor spaces for dining and relaxation. The main outdoor dining area is located on the upper deck, while the sundeck provides additional space with daybeds, a sit-up bar, and shaded dining options.

Excellence is apparent in every line, curve, and detail of Moon Sand's exterior.

Interior Design

Moon Sand's interior design, crafted by Bannenberg and Rowell, emphasizes elegance and practicality. The use of expansive glass surfaces brings in ample natural light, creating a spacious atmosphere while offering panoramic views. The main salon is designed to be both functional and stylish, with window borders featuring glass frames over an ombré mesh. This eliminates the need for drapes, though sheer blinds are available for privacy.

The interior spaces feature bespoke furniture pieces by Silverlining, Frank Pollaro, and Linley. These custom items demonstrate a blend of fine craftsmanship and usability, contributing to the yacht's modern yet inviting environment. Rich, tactile fabrics and modular seating arrangements enhance comfort and flexibility.

In the owner's suite, a pink marble bathroom stands out, with a bathtub personally selected in Italy. This choice reflects the attention to detail in material selection throughout the yacht's interior. The main deck's Sky Lounge functions like a floating art gallery, showcasing radical artisanship with its design and decor.

Moon Sand offers various amenities for guest entertainment and relaxation. The fitness area is equipped with advanced TechnoGym equipment, including an elliptical, treadmill, stationary bicycle, and free weights. The galley is well-appointed with commercial-grade appliances, such as Rational ovens, a Miele dishwasher, and a Hoshizaki icemaker.

The yacht Moon Sand offers luxurious accommodation, providing a comfortable and flexible environment for up to 12 guests. The owner's suite is a highlight, featuring an entrance lobby, a dressing table, a walk-in wardrobe, and separate His & Hers en-suites.  .

Guest accommodation consists of four cabins, each with its own en-suite bathroom. These guest cabins are versatile and can be combined to form two larger suites, offering flexibility to suit different guest requirements.
