  • Capacious tender garage
  • Transatlantic cruising capability with 4,000 nm range

Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 8.9m beam and a 2.89m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 491 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Atina follows Heesen's characteristic form, featuring moderately fine lines forward and a well-flared bow. The dark hull contrasts stylishly against the white superstructure, with lines creating a forward dynamic. A white bootstrap defines the water's edge, and a prominent white extension of the bathing platform runs along the waterline. Portholes in the hull provide ample light to the lower deck accommodations.

The main deck side profile showcases three large oval glazing shapes, each divided into three sections, with a strake defining the line below. The pristine white superstructure aligns with the dark hull, continuing the line of the upper deck. Striking black bulwarks create a dividing line between the large sections of vertical glazing.

The sun deck features a spa pool forward, an open space aft, and a shaded seating and dining area in the center. Unique sunshades roll out in both directions, allowing for nearly complete deck coverage. The radar mast canopy is in carbon black with white wings, and the tallest section of the mast is also black.

Both the main and upper decks offer well-shaded outdoor seating areas. A standout feature is the spacious seating area forward of the wheelhouse, providing a secluded hideaway when the wind is favorable. The main deck includes a large C-shaped sofa in white, accented with monochrome patterned cushions and black accessories.

The stern is high and closed, with twin staircases leading from the main deck aft. A Pascoe tender and two jet skis are stored in the spacious aft garage and launched directly aft over rollers once the transom is lowered to form a sloping 'beach'. Heesen employs a simple winch system for recovering tenders, eliminating the need for heavy, expensive cranes. The teak-paneled lazarette opens out onto a large bathing platform.

Interior Design

The interior design of Atina is characterized by its clean, modern, and uncluttered aesthetic. The main deck saloon combines a bar, lounge, and formal dining area into one large space. The primary materials used for paneling are Karelian birch and Macassar ebony. Karelian birch offers a light, highly figured appearance, while Macassar ebony provides a rich, dark contrast. Bands of polished nickel add definition to both the paneling and furniture.

The bar in the main deck saloon features a unique design with a wavy, metallic surface. Instead of a traditional display of bottles, the bar is adorned with artwork featuring 1930s alcohol labels. The flooring is a textured white wool carpet, while the overhead panels are made from grasscloth, providing a more interesting alternative to synthetic suede or silk.

The main entrance lobby on the starboard side includes a drum-shaped spiral staircase. The steps are cantilevered from a central mast of wenge, supported by broad bands of polished nickel. The drum walls are covered with artificial shagreen, and the lobby floor is made from pale limestone with fossilized sea creatures.

The galley is located on the port side of the main deck, adjacent to a pantry and a concealed service stairway to the upper deck. Every feature in the galley has been carefully considered for functionality and efficiency.

The upper saloon is a bright room with light oak paneling. It includes a bar, comfortable armchairs grouped around a coffee table, and a large sofa along one side. Sliding glass doors open onto the upper deck, creating an indoor/outdoor space ideal for entertaining. This area also features a large-screen television with a Kaleidescape sound and vision storage system, available throughout the yacht's cabins and public spaces.

Accommodation

Onboard the yacht Atina, the owner's suite is located forward on the main deck, accessible through a study with hammered silver doors. The suite features Macassar bedside tables, rippled wengé panels, and abstract paintings above the bed. The forward bulkhead showcases a large beach scene tapestry above a zebrano cabinet with a pop-up TV. The suite's bathroom is adorned with marble panels, offering a bath with natural light and scenic views.

The yacht includes four guest cabins accessible from a lower lobby, where ash timber and bleached wengé cabinetry create a light and airy atmosphere. Each cabin features cast bronze bedside lamps by Hannah Woodhouse, integral dressing tables, and marble en suites. The two midship cabins can convert between double and twin configurations. The forward port cabin is a double, while the forward starboard cabin is a twin with two additional ceiling-mounted berths.

Crew accommodations are located forward on the lower deck, and the captain's cabin adjoins the wheelhouse.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (8V 4000 M70) 1,554hp engines, motor yacht Atina is capable of reaching a top speed of 16 knots, and comfortably cruises at 14 knots. With her 63,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 4,606 nautical miles at 12 knots.

Tenders

ATINA comes with three tenders, including a VanDutch 40.
