The 43.14m motor yacht Harbour Moon was delivered to her owners in 1996 by Dutch shipyard Heesen. Her naval architecture and exterior design comes from the drawing boards of Diaship Design, while Donald Starkey is responsible for her interior design.

Design & Construction

Designed around a semi-displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 8.5m beam and a 2.5m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 409 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 1994. She was delivered to her owners in May 1996.

Exterior Design

Harbour Moon features a raked bow, enhancing both its aerodynamic efficiency and aesthetic appeal. The hull and superstructure are uniformly colored in white, creating a cohesive and sleek appearance. The deck is crafted from teak, a material known for its durability and resistance to the elements, providing a timeless and practical surface for outdoor activities. The boot top and the area below the waterline are colored in black, adding a striking contrast to the overall exterior.

Deck space on Harbour Moon is optimized by storing tenders and toys in a wide garage beneath the aft deck, accessible through a fold-down transom door. This design choice frees up space on the decks, allowing for attractive outdoor living areas on three levels. The highest level, the sun deck, is particularly noteworthy. It features a large, well-sheltered area with a spa pool concealed beneath a helicopter landing pad. The radar arch can be tipped backwards, and handrails removed to accommodate helicopter landings. When the pool is in use, the heli-pad lifts on hydraulic struts to serve as a sun-shade.

Interior Design

The main saloon features a large, open space that can be divided into a saloon and dining area with sliding glass 'liquid crystal' doors, which become opaque at the touch of a button. The saloon is divided into two seating areas, each centered around large settees. The interior design includes bold Versace fabrics in black and gold, creating a vibrant atmosphere. The space is further enhanced by 'everlasting' flower arrangements, adding splashes of yellow and green.

The dining area is centered around a circular glass table by Glass Deco, featuring an incised and engraved pattern of foliage. Ten modern chairs by Columbo, with elaborate marquetry legs and striking black and gold Versace upholstery, surround the table. The dining experience is elevated with three complete services of Versace china and Christofle cutlery.

The upper saloon is even more vivid, with brilliant yellow leather upholstery on the settees and bar stools. A multi-layered glass bar by Glass Deco is underlit and changes color gradually, while a ceiling panel with fiber-optic lights adds a dynamic visual element. A glass games table surrounded by clear acrylic chairs further accentuates the room's modern design. The upper saloon also includes a large television that appears from within a counter and a Bose surround-sound system.

Accommodation

The Harbour Moon offers accommodation for up to eight guests across four cabins. The owner's suite is located forward on the main deck and is accessible through a private study. This suite features a king-sized bed, backed by an engraved glass panorama depicting tigers in a snowy landscape. The room is designed with clean, modern lines and well-crafted joinery in wavy maple veneers. The owner's bathroom includes both an air-bubble bath and a Jacuzzi steam-shower, set on a floor of Nero Assoluto marble with Thassos trim and Nero Portoro details.

The guest accommodation is divided into four cabins, each uniquely decorated. The configuration includes two double cabins and two twin cabins, all located on the lower deck and accessible via twin lobbies.

She is also capable of carrying up to eight crew onboard to ensure a relaxed luxury yacht experience.

Performance & Capabilities

Powered by twin diesel MTU (16V396 TE94) 16-cylinder 3,043hp engines, motor yacht Harbour Moon is capable of reaching a top speed of 23 knots, and comfortably cruises at 15 knots. With her 71,000 litre fuel tanks she has a maximum range of 3,685 nautical miles at 12 knots. Her semi-displacement hull design means she offers a great balance of space and speed.
