Design & Construction

Designed around a displacement steel hull and an aluminium superstructure she features a 10.7m beam and a 3.53m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 1,090 GT (Gross Tonnes).

The yacht was designed and constructed in compliance with the Lloyds Register technical standards.

Exterior Design

Scott Free features a raked bow that complements its sleek and modern profile. The hull is painted in a classic blue, which contrasts sharply with the white superstructure, giving the yacht a clean and contemporary appearance. A white boot top line adds a subtle yet distinct accent to the overall design. Below the waterline, the hull is painted black, providing a practical and understated look.

The aft sunbathing area is expansive, equipped with Starck-designed chaises longues from Sutherland Teak. This marks the first instance of these pieces being used on a yacht. The relocation of the stairs inside allows for additional sunpads at the aft corners of the sky deck, optimizing available space.

Forward on deck, there are several integrated seating areas, providing private nooks for guests. The foredeck includes a raised walkway around the deck gear, with built-in seating that offers a comfortable spot to enjoy the voyage.

The sky deck benefits from the forward movement of the stairs, creating room for a 12-seat table and improving the view to starboard. An open gym area and barbecue facilities are also available on the sundeck, with options for both bar and table dining. Stepped sunpads lead up to the hot tub, adding to the functional leisure spaces.

Interior Design

The interior design of Scott Free, crafted by the renowned Bannenberg & Rowell, emphasizes both functionality and aesthetic appeal. The primary saloon features a series of circular styling cues, including a half-moon sofa, lime green shapes in the white carpet, and two large illuminated circles on the bulkheads. An abstract spiral painting adds a distinct visual element. The use of modern art throughout the accommodation areas, such as a Hockney drawing in the sky lounge and a Julian Opie print in the owner's study, sets a sophisticated tone.

The saloon incorporates a bar area, cleverly utilizing space taken by the air ducts. Glyn Peter Machin bar stools complement the light green theme, which recurs in small details like carpet swirls, sofa cushions, and lampshade trim. Painted oak and acrylic screens provide a backdrop for the dining table, creating a cohesive design.

The sky lounge mirrors the saloon's themes, featuring directional flooring that delineates seating areas and traffic flow. A cocktail bar, with a frontage designed by Fusion Glass Designs, is situated beneath the internal stairwell. The sky lounge is versatile, accommodating large gatherings for both socializing and entertainment. A remote-controlled illuminated curtain can alter the room's ambiance, while fixed sofas with movable drinks tables cater to various seating preferences.

Throughout the yacht, the use of diseased maple veneer in furniture adds unique visual interest. In the main deck day head, real leaves are embedded behind glass panels, and in the sky deck day head, a similar attention to detail is evident. The central staircase, designed to look like polished metal but constructed from a timber substrate painted with acrylic, exemplifies the innovative use of materials. Nickel inlays along the main deck walls and corridors further enhance the yacht's interior consistency.
