Design & Construction

Designed around a fast displacement aluminium hull and superstructure she features a 9.1m beam and a 2.12m draft. The yacht is built over 3 decks with an internal volume of 499 GT (Gross Tonnes).

Construction started in early 2015 with the keel laid under the project name 'Nova'. She was delivered to her owners in July 2017.

Exterior Design

The exterior design of the 50-meter yacht Home by Heesen Yachts is noteworthy for its practical and aesthetic features. The yacht’s lines are characterized by an aggressive bow design and this shape allows for crew accommodations to be positioned further forward.

The yacht's exterior features a rectangular floor-to-ceiling glazing that commands attention and offers panoramic views. This design choice prioritizes the connection between the interior and the natural surroundings. The superstructure is chamfered, and the glass incorporates little knuckles, creating walkaround decks that start wide and narrow as they progress. This design element enhances the psychological perception of space on board.

The walkaround decks also contribute to the yacht's under-500GT classification, while the master suite on the main deck benefits from a full-beam layout. Sightlines from inside are uninterrupted thanks to cut-out bulwarks topped by specially designed handrails.

Home’s exterior styling is the work of Omega Architects, a long-term collaborator with Heesen. The design incorporates practical elements, such as a telescopic seat on the foredeck that provides 360-degree views and can be used even while the yacht is underway. This feature is particularly suited for observing marine life, such as dolphins, in clear waters.

The exterior furniture on the sundeck includes low-slung Paola Lenti pieces, which are both stylish and functional. The sundeck can be transformed into an outdoor cinema with a projector and screen setup. The upper saloon further demonstrates the yacht's versatile design, featuring loose furniture that can be easily moved to create space for entertaining or even dancing, with the addition of a mirror ball and smoke machine.

Home's design is a paradigm of modern yachting architecture, where luxury meets functionality, and aesthetics serve a purpose

Interior Design

The interior design of the yacht Home is centered on simplicity and functionality, with a focus on maximizing natural light and providing a comfortable, modern living space. The interior, designed by Cristiano Gatto, utilizes a refined palette of four main hues: white, black, grey, and maroon. These colors are applied to various materials such as wood, marble, leather, and metal, creating a cohesive and sophisticated environment.

The main salon is designed with large, deep sofas that offer ample seating and comfort. The furniture style is consistent with what you would find in the owner's shore-based properties, ensuring a familiar and comfortable atmosphere. The space is filled with low-slung Paola Lenti pieces that are both functional and movable, allowing for flexible arrangements to suit different occasions.

Lighting in the yacht is carefully planned to enhance the materials and spaces. Focused LEDs, custom wall lamps, loose lighting, and strip lighting are employed to capture and reflect the unique qualities of each material used. This approach transforms the interiors by playing with light and shadow, particularly with the various shades of white, which change appearance under different lighting conditions.

The upper saloon exemplifies the indoor/outdoor living concept. Full-height windows allow for unobstructed views, and the glass doors can open completely to merge the interior with the exterior aft deck. The space is flexible, with all furniture being loose and movable. This area can transition from a serene sitting area to an engaging party room with the addition of a mirror ball and smoke machine.

Accommodation

The luxury yacht Home is designed to accommodate up to 12 guests comfortably. The yacht features six well-appointed cabins, ensuring ample space and privacy for all on board.

The owner's suite is located forward on the main deck, utilizing the full beam to offer expansive space and panoramic views. This suite includes two dedicated offices, tailored to meet the owner's business needs. The inner office connects directly to the master cabin, providing a private workspace, while the outer office is equipped with a desk for two, allowing staff to work in close proximity.

Crew accommodation on Home is situated forward and can accommodate up to nine crew.

Performance & Capabilities

Home's hybrid propulsion system is versatile, offering four distinct engine modes by the twin diesel-electric MTU (12V 2000 M61) 12-cylinder 805hp engines to cater to a variety of cruising preferences. The yacht can operate under conventional diesel power for faster cruising speeds or switch to the quiet mode that employs electric motors for a serene and noiseless experience, ideal for enjoying the natural surroundings without disturbance.

When extra power is required, the boost mode comes into play, combining diesel and electric propulsion to provide an additional surge of speed. In eco mode, the yacht's favorite among the crew, Home can navigate with minimal environmental impact, showcasing her green credentials.

This hybrid system allows Home to reach a commendable top speed of 17.7 knots when in boost mode, while her cruising speed on the mains is 17.2 knots. At a more leisurely pace of 9.3 knots under electric power, the vessel's operation is whisper-quiet, enhancing the tranquil atmosphere on board.

The efficiency of the Fast Displacement Hull Form is evident, as Home is reported to be 48 percent more efficient than other yachts in her class. This advanced hull design not only contributes to her reduced fuel consumption but also plays a significant role in the vessel's range, allowing her to cover greater distances with less environmental impact.

For stabilization, Home is equipped with state-of-the-art stabilizers. These ensure a smooth and stable journey, whether at anchor or while cruising, enhancing the comfort of those on board.

Home seamlessly combines performance, luxury, and environmental consciousness, setting a new standard for eco-friendly luxury yachting.

Amenities

The yacht features a well-equipped gym, allowing her guests to keep up their fitness regimes at sea. In addition, a swim platform is on hand for guests looking to cool off in the sea. Air conditioning offers increased on-board comfort. Home also features deck jacuzzi which provides excellent views.
