50m superyacht Project AURA is fifth and final launch of 2021 for Heesen

The sub 500GT superyacht was technically launched at its Oss facility and is scheduled for delivery in Spring 2022.

Heesen has launched its fifth and final yacht of 2021, with 50m (164ft) motor yacht Project Aura hitting the water earlier this month.

The 499GT superyacht was technically launched at the Dutch yard’s Oss facility, with photos showcasing her striking masculine exteriors, penned by Clifford Denn and inspired by classic automotive design elements.

Powered by twin MTU 8V4000 M63 engines Project Aura has a range of 3,800nm at 13 knots, complemented by a sturdy round-bilge steel hull that makes her suited for long passages.

2021 has been a very exciting year for our shipyard.

Arthur Brouwer, Heesen CEO, expressed his pleasure at the year’s activities for the yard: “2021 has been a very exciting year for our shipyard, not only for our many sales successes, which will keep us busy for years to come but also for the milestones we achieved in the construction of our yachts. Today, we are celebrating the technical launch of this beautiful 50-metre. Project Aura is the fifth yacht launched this year.”

Project Aura features a real focus on exterior space, in particular alfresco dining areas on deck. At sea-level, fold-down swim platforms created a roomy beach club, whilst at the top of the yacht, a sun deck crowns a private and spectacular social expanse.

Interior design comes from Reymond Langton, with Project Aura sleeping ten guests across five staterooms. The master suite is located forward on the main deck with the remaining cabins on the lower deck.

Project Aura will next undergo commissioning of her main systems before heading to the North Sea for her sea trials. Delivery is scheduled for the end of April 2022.

Combining considerable pedigree with a short delivery time, thanks to pre-defined hull shapes, Heesen is one of the world’s leading superyacht constructors.
