Heesen has delivered what it calls one of its “most complex steel yachts” to date, 60m (197ft) superyacht LUSINE.
The 1,060 GT superyacht LUSINE is both Heesen’s first delivery of 2022 and the largest steel yacht they have delivered to date. Superyacht LUSINE features several interesting design elements, including an eye-catching “bird’s wing” motif and an intricate layout tailored around the lifestyle of the Owner and their family.
Superyacht LUSINE is also the first yacht in the world to sport the SCR system, required on yachts above 24m (78ft) to reduce emissions, alongside her twin V12 MTU engines and stores a Boston Whaler tender in the aft garage with a launching ramp.
Peter van der Zanden, General Manager of Design, Development and Engineering at Heesen, welcomed the delivery: "Thanks to the knowledge gained during the evolution of our steel fleet over the years, our engineering and naval architecture teams easily hit all the targets” he said. "LUSINE is one of the most complex steel yachts we have delivered to date, but our experience helped us find ingenious solutions and presented a solid foundation for intelligent innovation."
Her clean and chiseled exterior lines have been designed by Omega Architects, with the “bird’s wing” motif front and center and serving to integrate the main deck, bridge and sundeck without interrupting the horizontal sweep of the windows. Other unusual design elements include a reception area on the sundeck to welcome guests arriving by helicopter.
LUSINE is described as having “one of the most complex interiors ever crafted” by Heesen and comes from the pen of Sinot Yacht Architecture and Design, with rare woods, precious fabrics and exquisite leathers all playing an important role in the calm and elegant design.
The superyacht accommodates 12 guests across six staterooms, including an Owner’s apartment on the bridge deck aft, and is fitted with two MTU 12V 4000 M65L diesel engines that give a top speed of 17.5 knots and a range of 4,200nm at 13 knots.
Dutch yard Heesen has become known for offering potential owners shorter than normal delivery times, with most of its builds being semi-custom projects based on pre-defined hull shapes, albeit with a good level of customization still available above the water.
According to YachtBuyer intelligence, Heesen has a further four yachts to be delivered in 2022, headed up by 80.7m (265ft) superyacht GALACTICA, which will become the builder’s largest yacht upon her delivery.
