Driven by sanctions against its former owner, listed by the US and UK authorities, plus the European Union due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the 82m Oceanco superyacht was forced to stay in Antigua since 2022. The sale resolves two years of legal issues and unpaid crew wages, offering a new beginning for the Nuvolari Lenard-designed motor yacht.
Launched in 2007, superyacht ALFA NERO features interiors by Alberto Pinto, inspired by Art Deco and contemporary themes. Capable of accommodating up to 12 guests in six staterooms, this indulgent motor yacht features a well-appointed configuration of cabins including an owner's stateroom, two VIP suites, two doubles, and a twin, along with a crew of 28.
A skeleton crew of six has been onboard since the yacht was seized from its Russian owner in March 2022.
Like many of the world's biggest yachts, ALFA NERO boasts an array of stand-out features such as her iconic aft deck pool, which transforms into a helipad or dance floor. Designed by Venetian naval architect Carlo Nuvolari, this technically advanced infinity pool can be raised to a safe depth for toddlers or made flush with the deck to serve as a helipad.
Known during construction as Project Y-702, ALFA NERO took 27 months to build, has a gross tonnage of 2,159GT, and is equipped with twin MTU engines for a cruising speed of 18 knots and a top speed of 20 knots.
According to the Antigua Observer, superyacht ALFA NERO has been in Falmouth Harbour, Antigua for nearly two years and cost the local government $28,000 a week, not including food and crew wages.
