Feadship has announced it has launched its largest yacht so far this year, with the 95m (311ft) hybrid motor yacht BLISS, formerly known as Feadship 1009, hitting the water in Makkum in the Netherlands today.
The 3,000GT fully custom yacht features exterior design from Studio De Voogt and interiors from the pen of Remi Tessier and has been built for serious exploration. She is fully equipped and certified to cruise Polar regions and has a range of 6,000nm at a cruising speed of 12 knots, and a top speed of 17 knots.
As ever the project has involved very close collaboration between Feadship and the Owner, as project manager Albert Abma explains: “Feadship is renowned for offering a unique experience to owners who wish to become personally involved and, in this case, the client embraced every opportunity to play a role. He also thoroughly enjoyed meeting the craftspeople and learning about our processes at the yard. Bliss really is a Feadship built with as well as for her owner.”
Motor yacht BLISS features a hybrid propulsion system that enables her to sail in diesel-electric mode and also ensures efficient energy consumption and fuel savings.
On board she features nine guest cabins and an extensive gym and wellness area. The feeling of space in the large lounge areas is enhanced by high ceilings and there are expansive exterior deck areas with a large pool and a commercially certified helideck that converts into a full sports and games deck.
As is common with Feadship projects the build of superyacht BLISS has been very private, with yacht spotters last catching a glimpse of her in September 2019 as she left the Feadship construction hall in Papendrecht to head to Makkum.
World's Largest Yachts
Feadship has already delivered four superyachts in 2021, the most recent of which was 71.5m (235ft) motor yacht VANISH, which was handed over to her Owner earlier this month. Alongside superyacht BLISS four further Feadships are expected to be delivered this year.
The yard is also working on its biggest superyacht yet, 118m (387ft) Project 1010, which is set to become the largest Dutch-built yacht yet upon its scheduled delivery in 2022.
When Dutch builder Feadship delivers superyacht BLISS, she will become the world's 67th longest yacht in the Top 100. However, with a Gross Tonnage of 2,283GT, Superyacht BLISS holds the 93rd position in the new, more accurate YachtBuyer YB100 Largest Yachts by GT table, which is 13 spots lower than her standing in the Top 100 when ranked by length.
